Going to Countdown Party is the most horrible time to go to TDL. I have never done it and do not intend to.

It is crazy! I almost got trampled the year that I went but it is a really fun experience overall. You have to wait from at least early morning to get a good spot, we were just a little off center from the front of the castle. If you go in a group I suggest you pick the fastest runner and meet up with them after things calm down at TDL. I think TDS is calmer but I've never been to their countdown. Regarding hotels I have no idea though.

I'll probably go this year but haven't decided yet. It depends on how good the Countdown preview nights are on Dec. 28-29. I haven't missed a Countdown since 1999.

6 months in advance if possible. Some people take advantage of that time of year by buying the rights to a room/s and then try to sell them for a higher price on auction sites later on.

Blimey can these people actually do that,as surely only the people who's name the rooms booked in would be allowed to stay!

                  Re: Countdown 2007

I got an email from Ikyu.com (about a week before new years) - which is a hotel booking site in Japan - and they were still selling hotel rooms for the 30th, 31st. And they ALSO said that if you have a hotel room at the official hotels you are GUARANTEED admission into the count down party - just like how you`re guaranteed admission into the parks even when the parks are full.
(of course you have to buy the tickets at the hotel and stuff)

But I always thought that the only way to get tickets was to win the lottery thing. I had no idea that you could get the tickets if you had a room! (of course the rooms are like $600 a night with a 2 night minimum)
