Raging Spirits, a new roller coaster attraction in Tokyo DisneySea Park, will begin operation on July 21, 2005 in the themed port of Lost River Delta. The attraction will take Guests on a thrilling, high-speed ride through the ruins of an ancient ceremonial site.
When restoration work began on two giant statues unearthed recently in Lost River Delta, the unfortunate consequence was the awakening of the mysterious spirits that reside in the ominous idols. Now, the multi- headed snake statue that seems to be the symbol of the God of Water spews water everywhere, while the stone statue of the God of Fire appears surrounded by shimmering flames.

Guests riding the attraction will board hopper cars that are propelled along tracks around the archeological excavation site, passing by the vengeful statues and through bursts of water and flame before experiencing a 360-degree loop followed by a hair-raising plunge into a steam- filled cenote (sinkhole).

Raging Spirits will offer Guests an unforgettable journey through a mysterious and exciting world. The attraction will serve to further enhance the atmosphere of Lost River Delta and add even more adventure to Tokyo DisneySea.

I think it's in spanish because it's located near in Lost River Delta... I'm guessing it would kind of relate to the Mexican or Aztec culture?

That's correct. The location theming for Lost River Delta is in a 1930's-era Spanish-speaking country. The temple design and backstory in the Indiana Jones ride is inspired by Central American indigenous cultures. The restaurants are named Yucatan Base Camp Grill and Miguel's El Dorado Cantina. FYI, Altars of Fire and Water was one of the working titles for this attraction. The Cast Members in that port even greet you with "buenos dias".


Forgot to add, from last week, the roller-coaster trains are being tested and run through the track.

Another snub at the lackluster imagineering of US Disney or rather the Eisner/Disney management.

Its so obvious what a proper direction of ideas, quality and uniqueness is still available for a Disney themed park, sadly all the ingredients needed for that have been eradicated from Disney in the US and also in some respects to other Disney parks like the MGM Studios clone in Paris.

Will things improve after Eisner leaves?
If Castro became "indisposed" of Cuba would the country reclaim modern day status and recognition?

That is because Lost River delta's setting is meant to be a Latin American rainforresty jungle. Most signs are in spanish and many CM's greet guests with an "Hola Amigos!" verbal greeting when they go places within the Port.

Similarly, if you are in Mediterranean harbor, CM's greet you with a "Bongiorno!", and a "hello" in American Waterfront.

Are you implying that US Disney Imagineering did not create this? I'm betting it did, and that Disney received top dollar for the work.
Eisner is far too risk-averse to invest in its own theme parks. Everybody else's, "Not enough," is, "Too much," to him.

Everything they do at TDR is done by the good old imagineers as OLC sets the amount of money they are willing to spend, and they *do* spend lots. The only reason why TDS is getting this ride is because it's a quick fix to increase the number of guests coming thru the turnstyles until the big kahuna (TOT) opens in 2006. (check the other album on that same Epson page if you will). Even Anne Hamburger from DL's famed live stage shows was involved with TDS' BraviSEAmo! show.. and so it goes.
