Congratulations on planning your first trip to the TDR MegaDisney, you will not regret it.I myself will be heading back for another trip in just over a weeks time and I don't know how I'm going to manage waiting out another week.

You've come to the right place for advice on the TDR,we have quite a few experts who have been before on here including a couple of regular Annual Passholders. Now for us to advise you better it would help if you could tell us a bit more about how much time you will be spending at the Resort, where you will be staying either onsite or off and what your main interest are when visiting a Disney park, you know attractions,shows/parades,meals etc.

Don't go just for the Tokyo Disney Resort. I would spend a maximum of three full days at TDR. We spent two and a half days seeing TDR.

See some of Japan. If you only have time for day trips, see Kamakura, Asakusa, Ueno park, Shinkjuku, etc. Get a guidebook such as Frommer's and pick out what areas you'd like to see.

If you have more time take a ride on a bullet train to Kyoto and/or Hiroshima. It's about 5 hours to Hiroshima.

A Japan rail pass will get you unlimited trips on any bullet train except for the Nozomi. There are plenty of other non-Nozomi trains that leave often. That's my one regret, not having enough time to ride bullet trains all over the country. One day that's what I'm going to do if I go to Japan again, just ride the shinkasen and then find an inexpensive hotel/inn to stay at night. Very little planning.

I don't know, do your research and find out what looks interesting to you.

Sadly the 21st - 25th don't leave much time to do anything else regarding visiting Tokyo itself.

But first, you need to learn that there is no "TDLR". The name of the place is NOT Tokyo Disneyland Resort. The correct name is *TOKYO DISNEY RESORT*, hence the "TDR" designator. Just thought you should know that...

You should also know sept 23rd and 24th are national holidays in Japan and the TDR parks will be PACKED to the seams. I should know since I will be there to watch the overcrowded conditions as they occur.

My Dates are in Feb so the Sep dates shouldn't interfere...

Ok megaD, if you are coming in Feb.. then bring a mega winter coat. It gets very cold in Tokyo on those days... though not artic cold like in Paris. I hope you don't mind the Disney Princesses since february may see the last season of "Cinderellabration; Lights of Romance" and a repeat performance of Disney's Princess Days. Dress accordingly and bring tiara. I also hope you won't be disappointed by the fact that "Dreamlights" (Disney most spectacular night time electrical parade on Earth) won't be performed on those days if indeed Lights of Romance come back to the Hub.

                    Re: Planning my first trip!

Just out of interest did Tokyo not have quite a mild winter this year, as I seem to recall the mild winter being credited by OLC for it helping to rise the combine attendance this year for both parks. Since the planet is supposedly heating up, and it all being blame on global warming, you may get to enjoy a warmer Febuary.

Your Thailand trip sounds interesting, I have friends who will be staying in Phuket for six months later this year and are wishing for me to join them out there early next year. So we'll have to wait and see what happens.

Go to Paris if you want to increase your chances of seeing real snow in a Disney park by 90%.

Has it not snowed since Tokyo DisneySea opened? I could not find any images of the park blanketed in snow.
