  • 2020 Tokyo Disney Land Construction Update (video + images)

OLC released a video on Youtube and concept art (some which we already seen) showing us what the new area will look like.

With the Oriental Land Company, I expect the finished product to surpass the artists' depictions of what it will look like.

The only thing I don't love about this expansion is that Fantasyland will now be nearly touching Space Mountain... Apparently the OLC does not really care about seamless transitions from land to land - I have read that they can seem very abrupt at Tokyo Disneyland.

Looks beautiful! Is it true the theater will have as many seats as the Hyperion?
        I want a refund

TDR has its 35th Anniversary coming up next year, which kicks off April 15th '18- What crowd levels could be expected for an opening weekend?

Will the construction have any impact on number of attractions open/crowding? - i.e. disneyland right now

Opening weekend is always crowded. And I would think it would still be crowded next year even though there is construction going on around the park.

Its the same capacity as Broadway Music Theater in DisneySea. 1500 seats

Oh you are wrong, some of TDR new projects didnt look great like the concept art. For eg. the new rooms at Miracosta, and TDL Hotel, etc...

is there a site, blog .. something that shows all this in better detail?
A couple years back ... there were different plans. It showed Small World moved to the side of Space Mountain. Among other things that seem are not happening. I'd like to see the evolutionary steps made .. that obviously got changed around.

What I think stinks about this whole project ... it's shrinking Tomorrowland. It's bad enough the land has devolved into IPs that have nothing to do with futurism .. Now they are "shrinking" the scope of the land even more.
                  MY SIGNATURE:
Dear Peoplemover Fans, If you want to see a new attraction that at least mimics the 1967 Peoplemover in a future Tomorrowland remodel, you need to write to the powers-that-be, and let them know. If you don't - Then the next time Tomorrowland is remodeled, you will see a land barren of any "Peoplemover" type attraction.

We only really know of Plan A (2014 press release) and Plan B (2016 release).

                    Plan A:
                    DISNEYSEA
Added: Arendelle Port (with Frozen ride
                    Removed: --

                    DISNEYLAND
Added: New IASW; New Dumbo; Beauty and Beast area and ride; Alice ride; Fantasyland area/dining (over TL Terrace); possibly Fantasyland Theater; some kind of minor Toontown addition

Removed: Grand Prix Raceway; Old Dumbo; Old IASW; TL Terrace; Starjets

                    http://i843.photobucket.com/albums/z...g.jpg~original

A couple years go by and in 2016 a totally revised Plan B is released and executed. There were rumors of Olympics construction in Japan driving up costs and overloading construction companies or they decided B was a better use of resources (i.e., why move IASW).

                    Plan B:
                    DISNEYSEA
                    Added: Soarin'
                    Removed: --

                    DISNEYLAND
Added: Beauty and Beast area and ride; Fantasyland Theater; Big Hero Six whip ride (TL); Minnie m and g (TT); Popcorn shop (TL)

                    Removed: Grand Prix Raceway; Starjets

They can (abrupt land transitions). This is one of the problems I have with Tokyo Disneyland.
