Re: Girls in front of me last night
You'd be suprised by just how many Japanese do understand English, or atleast important keywords. When I was in a resturant all I needed to do was call out what I wanted in English. No one had problems understanding me, nor did I have to point to anything on the menu. Getting a decent conversation out of them on the other hand will be a bit more difficult.

Re: Girls in front of me last night
i had some trouble. one of them knew it better than the other two. thanks to tokyo disneyland though pointing to the hat and asking "one more ghost?" was a key wordand when i started singing "Welcome to our halloween party" the girl started beaming clapping and getting giddy and sang the next line

I'm just shocked you didn't have any trouble speaking English with them.

AS for WDW, size is all they have to offer, so no surprises there.

Re: Girls in front of me last night
How do the Japanese view the other parks. Seeing that many Westerners on here trash the US Parks while praising the Tokyo parks, I'd be interested to see how DLR and WDW compare to TDR in the eyes of the Japanese guest. Hong Kong Disneyland is also a popular location for the Japanese to visit. As most of the YouTube videos online of the special event parades are actually produced by TDR Annual Passholders who are visiting.

Likewise at WDW, you see them japanese wearing some of TDR's shirts and other stuff. Even in Paris, I spotted a japanese gal wearing this year's Minnie Halloween apron-style costume.
Likewise.. I see some japanese guests at TDR wearing WDW or DLR's merchandise tee/sweatshirts..etc.

Yep, the Japanese are huge Disney fans. It doesn't surprise me to see many of them at other Disney parks besides their own.

^ Oh, wow! That says something about the resort. That also explains why many of the larger shows do announcements in Japanese in addition to the standard English/Spanish.

That's a cool little story. I know quite a few Japanese living in Japan that have Premium Annual Passports to Disneyland Resort and/or WDW.

Girls in front of me last night
Random note.I was waiting for Believe...In Holiday Magic last night over at Disneyland and there were 3 japanese girls sitting in front of me and I noticed one wearing a tower of terror mickey hat.. then realized.. wait.. there aren't any tower of terror hats like that.. hey is that a golden spider on the front? Hey that's Mickey's haunted mansion one more ghost hat! =D
So I asked and sure enough it was and she had on a necklace from this year's christmas event, they apparently just came straight from Tokyo Disneyland to here heh. They had a little trouble with English, I was mentioning Rick Mckee writing the halloween showstop and sang the first line and they perked up and started clapping and squeeling that they loved that song(there ya go rick). Just seeing that mickey hat made me smile heh. Yay
