  • 1st visit to Tokyo Disneyland and Disney Sea - ticket question

We will be staying at the Hilton Tokyo Bay. Is there any benefit to buying the park tickets on site at the hotel or should we purchase ahead of time online? Also, if you purchase onsite, is it cash only? Any other must know tips for first timers? Thank you!

The only benefit is that your guaranteed park admission so you don’t have to buy in advance if you do not want to do so. I stayed at another hotel on property and they accepted credit so I do not see why Hilton wouldn’t.

As for tips: I highly recommend checking out TDR explorer on YouTube. He lives locally and knows the ins and outs. I recommend the video below.

I just got back this week. I stay at the Sheraton, but like the Hilton, staying there guarantees park admission. It is incredibly easy to buy park tickets at the hotel as opposed to doing it online. The Sheraton's ticket counter has excellent english-speaking employees and I'm sure the Hilton is the same. As you know, you have to pick which park you'll be visiting on what day and the english is helpful in doing the transaction. The Sheraton accepts CCs, so look into a card that charges no International transaction fees. I've been to TDR twice and never seen the need to buy tickets in advance. I suppose if you were hitting the parks during a peak season or what they consider a very busy weekend, it would make sense though. We always go when it's slow to maximize our days. Whenever you go, enjoy. It is fantastic.
