  • Alternative hotels to stay at in Tokyo

As I've decided to promote alternative options for you to stay at while in Tokyo visiting Disney, instead of the very pricey options of the Mira Costa or Ambassador, I've decided to start pushing some of these hotels on here. I'm going to start by listing both the partner and good nieghbour hotels for the TDR. By the way feel free to add your own hotel picks as we list the best alternative hotels for people wishing to stay in Tokyo and visit the Resort.

First up lets look at the 5 partner hotels that are situated in the Shin-Urayasu area.

Palm & Fountain Terrace Hotel http://www.palmandfountainterracehot...ish/index.html

    Hotel Emion Tokyo Bay
    http://www.hotel-emion.jp/english/index.html

    Oriental Hotel Tokyo Bay
    http://www.oriental-hotel.co.jp/index.html (Japanese only)

    Urayasu Brighton Hotel
    http://www.brightonhotels.co.jp/urayasu-e/

Mitsui Garden Hotel Prana Tokyo Bay
    http://www.gardenhotels.co.jp/prana/index.html

As these are TDR partner hotels you can expect a good service as well as the following benefits

    : Complinmentry Shuutle Bus Service
    : Purchase tickets at Hotel
    : TDR information
    : Shopping at hotel
    : Bagage delivery service

Next we'll begin looking at the TDR Good Nieghbour Hotels.

Great info. I'm going to compromise on my trip and stay in Tokyo AND at the MiraCosta. I'm using Vacation Club points though for the MC, so I'm not concerned about the cost. I'm just trying to figure out where to stay while we're doing our Tokyo sightseeing.

We continue now by looking at the Good Nieghbour Hotels. Currently they are 14 hotels taking part in this programme all situated in differnt districts of Tokyo. The benefits for staying in one of these hotels include Park information and a complinmentry bus service which will drop guest of at both TDL and TDS. I have also listed the estimated travel times between hotel and Resort. First 8 are below, next time we will list the other 6, before counting down some of the other hotels around Tokyo some may find of interest.

Re: Alternative hotels to stay at in Tokyo

My husband (kustomboy) and I stayed at the Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa in Shinagawa on our first trip to TDL. It was very nice that they had the complimentary shuttle...but we only had to use it 1 time. The hotel is great and the rooms are a nice size. The only compliant that I had for the hotel was the walk up the hill from the train station. If you want to save your energy for shopping/sightseeing then we like to stay at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel http://www.princehotelsjapan.com/Shi...otel/index.asp
It's directly across the street from the train station and a much easier walk back to the hotel after a long day at TDL! They, however, are not a TDL good neighbor hotel.

Do you think if I stayed a few days at the Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa, they would transfer me to the MiraCosta? That's one of my main concerns, getting to TDR after staying in Tokyo.

Re: Alternative hotels to stay at in Tokyo

I don't waste my time with expensive hotels regardless of how they may or may not be connected to TDR, via Disney or by designations (official, partner hotel..etc). Therefore I maximize my fun at TDR by saving money on hotels.. reason why I always stay at small business hotels. And my prefered choice for Tokyo and TDR trips is the Hotel Universe in Kayabasho... just a 14 mins ride on the JR Keiyo train to TDR (maihama). Rooms are small but convenient enough.

I don't think they would bring you all the way to MiraCosta. I believe they only drive to the main hub area near Bon Voyage Store/Monorail station...where you could hop on the Monorail and ride over to the DisneySea area where Miracosta is located. I could be completely wrong on this, but this is what I remember about the transportation from the GPHNT to TDL. (The only time we rode it was going home from TDL...after the train to Maihama was shut down and we had to walk for about 4 hours to get to TDL. We ended up calling the hotel and making a reservation on the bus to get home!!!)

And girlfriend.. you *KNOW* TDR's souvenirs are the BEST!!!

And YES, you are correct about the drop-off location. However, if this is a partner hotel you are talking about, their bus may also drop off at the main bus terminal outside TDS, which is just a 2 minute walk to the Miracosta's Lobby, but all that will have to be confirmed with the concierge at the downtown Tokyo hotel.
