  • [Question] Lockers at Fort Wilderness?

I am going camping at WDW for a few days with a friend. We are flying down with our tent, and were wondering if there were lockers at the campground (preferably at the campsites or comfort stations) to place our items in?

Since we don't have the convenience of a car to lock some items in, what we bring down there greatly depends upon the availability of locking some of our items up at the campground.

Does anyone recall what the locker situation is like there?

I cannot think of any lockers anywhere at the campground - definitely not at the sites.

I would leave valuables at home.

Well, I was thinking like iPod, camera, etc? Would those be safe?

I was wondering because in the past when I've been camping, many sites will have a big iron one that is bolted to cement in the ground to put your stuff in. That keeps it safe, and keeps animals away as well; some animals (like bears and raccoons) have been known to go through people's tents when they are away.

Yes. There is a gated entry to the resort that requires a valid FW resort ID to open. Additionally, security personnel patrol the resort. There are safes in the Wilderness Cabins and safe storage for valuables is also available at the Front Desk. There are security locks on the comfort stations that require a valid resort ID to open. The locks are activated from midnight to 6 a.m.

        More info is here.
You could also call Disney and ask them too, if you don't get a better answer here. Haven't heard too many people staying at FW on MC.

Yo-Yo Flamingo put some info up - but most people do have cars when they stay at the campsites (or some form of vehicle). I have camped at FW many times and love it.

However - just because it is Disney doesn't mean things don't get stolen, I know someone who had bikes stolen from their site. So while I would keep a cooler, clothes, etc. there - I'd not leave electronic equipment. I have always had my camera, etc. on me (unless just running to the bathroom). It will feel safe for you there - it's a family atmosphere, but it just takes one person stealing something to ruin a vacation.

I can't think of any safes at the campsites, just picnic tables and such.

Fort Wilderness is one of my favorite spots on WDW property.
