  • [Rumor] Lone Ranger added to BTMRR?

Let me try this again, as I think this is big news...

In the latest edition of 2009 Unofficial Guide to WDW, Jim Hill states that changes will come to BTMRR in the form of additions to the planned Lone Ranger movie Disney plans to make. What do you think of this?

I hope, if true, it is very subtle. We've been Johnny Depped already and rumors of Prince of Persia coming to Adventureland seem to be around as well. Might wanna check out the book!

That will be war. I don't understand why something for Lone Ranger would be needed, you'd go past the prop so fast you wouldn't notice it.

As always, it depends on how well the movie(s) do.

the more likely scenario I think is if the movie does well, Tom Sawyer island will get a Lone Ranger make over

Because I think the idea of adding the Lone Ranger to Big Thunder Mountain is pointless. But we'll see what happens. I wish they'd stop adding movie tie-ins to the non-movie based rides.

Pirates and Small World were once untouchable, too.

So what, are we gonna zoom by an animatronic cowboy dressed in white with his Indian pal? Who's really gonna notice this? I'm not for it particularly, and not necessarily against it. BTMRR does need some freshening though. That is for sure. I love it, it's a childhood memory, but it is getting stale. It's like the bag of chips that you've been munching on for the last month. It's still kinda good but they are losing that crispyness...

Seriuosly though how could they work him into the ride? The current story line, if it could really be called that, best supports it. If ol' kimosabi is going to be in it it would have to be just hanging out on the side.
