  • [Question] Is Magic Kingdom the smallest of the 4 parks?

I've always read that the studios was by far the smallest of the 4 parks, but someone recently challenged me on that and claims that MK is by far the smallest of the 4 theme parks. Does anyone have the actual numbers on square footage?

      Tis true,

MK is 107 acres I think and Studios is about 130.

Both can fit inside of EPCOT of course since it is over 300 acres but is dwarfed by AK which covers more than 500.

In terms of guest capacity, EPCOT is the largest with well over 100,000, Mk is next I think followed by Studios and AK.
MK had a phase 4 closure this week which put about 100,000 people in the park. It was reported that EPCOT had more than 80,000 and had no phase closure to my knowledge.

I couldn't find anything about square footage, but here are the acre sizes -

        Magic Kingdom Park: 107 Acres
        http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw...=MKLandingPage

        Epcot: 300 Acres
        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epcot

        Animal Kingdom: 510 Acres
Disney's Animal Kingdom | Theme Park

        Hollywood Studios: 135 Acres
        http://www.ultimaterollercoaster.com...k/disneymgm_fl.

So yes, the Magic Kingdom appears to be the smallest of the four parks.

The Epcot page contains conflicting information. The acreage is over 300.

Well I'll be. I was surprised to see that MK was the smallest park. I knew it was smaller than both Epcot and DAK, but it feels so much bigger than DHS. It must have to do with the strange layout of DHS making it feel so much smaller.

This just seems crazy to me too. I never would have guessed Hollywood Studios is larger than the Margic Kingdom.

Neither did I! Poor layout really does make a difference (of Hollywood Studios).

And in contrast, Disneyland is like what... 60 acres?

Disneyland is 85 acres.. and it also feels much bigger... way bigger than DHS.

What's the acreage of DAK if the safari isn't counted I wonder, because that is a massive part of the acreage count.

I think they are counting every part of the park as opposed to actual space accessed by the public. DHS's walkable area is definitely not bigger than the Magic Kingdom's walkable area.

I was going to say the same thing. I highly doubt the area you can walk in DHS is bigger then the area you can walk in MK. I just can't see it.

                              The safari is 110 acres.

Even then, the Magic Kingdom has a good bit of land inside the berm just sitting there.
