  • [Question] What would of happen if DAK had Beastly Kingdom?

If Disney put Beastly Kingdom in DAK during the park's opening, would the park be great or no?

First off I think DAK is great already, the level of imagineering in the park is amazing but if they did it and did it right with the same care and attention to detail that they did with Africa and Asia I think it would have been spectacular. However, If they had rushed it for the opening date and did another Dinoland style facade I think it would have been a disaster and the current camp Minnie Mickey character greetings, Pocahontas (now dark) and The Lion King where probably for the best.

They still have a lot of land to develop in DAK I think they definitely could expand it to add the Beastly Kingdome in some form or another in the future in the original place. There are still signs of Dragons in that area and where there's footprints...

I don't think having Beastly Kingdom would have made any change to the park being "great", its fine as it is. Sure it may need a couple more attractions here or there but something like Australia could sort that.

Although Beastly probably would have been ok, I don't think we're really missing out.

I love DAK, but I think Beatly Kingdomme (That's how I've always seen it spelled) would greatly improve the park. It would make the dragon on the logo, parking lot, and ticket booth make more sense, as well as give the park the much needed increase of attractions to make it a park that the average tourist could spend a full day in. I personally could spend a day enjoying the details of the park, but not everyone is like that. Bastly would also flesh out the park's promise to, "pay tribute to animals live, extinct, and imaginary."

I would def be for The Beastly Kingdom addition at DAK. I've always felt the park was missing something and was lacking in the excitment factor that the other 3 parks provide. I'd much rather see Disney focus on the Beastly Kingdom addition at DAK then more attractions and revampments at DS.

Well considering that dueling dragons at IOA was created by former imagineers and it is one of the most awesome rides Universal has, I think it would have been a wonderful addition to DAK. In my imagination that entire section of IOA is what DAK could have had with Beastly Kingdomme.

I just looked it up and I'm... really bummed they never went through with it. A ride centered around the pegasus family from Fantasia? "Quest For The Unicorn"? If nothing else, the sets would have been absolutely BREATHTAKINGLY gorgeous. Wow. Stunning conceptual artwork, too. Why did the plans fall through?

Ah, well. At least we're getting HP next year, right? :P

I think it would have been/would be a great addition for the park. Though, part of me wonders if it would all feel out of place. People complain about DinoLand and sure it's cheap and tacky, but I think the biggest issue is that you go from areas that have such great exotic realism in Asia and Africa that it's hard to accept them as belonging. I think it'd be the same for the fantasy creatures. I'd rather see an Australia section built or even a South American section.

I love Disney a lot, but I think that Beastly Kingdom would be too scary for the kids. mean... I 'm almost 16 and even I'M scared of this! hehe. But I think DAK should be open longer so that it would be more enjoyable. Same with DHS.
