  • [Question] Teacups? Dedication Medallion? Wha?

So yesterday I was working at the Teacups and this woman comes up to me. She asked me about some medallion placed somewhere in the ground dedicated to an Imagineer. She said it was pretty recent but I hadn't heard a single thing about it. Anyone know what she was talking about?

Yes, it's the "Last Lecture" guy Randy Pausch. The 'medallion' is a plaque, themed like the alice in wonderland oversized blades. I think it's between Pooh and the teacups (between the teacups and that drinking fountain?) but it could be on the opposite side. Haven't been to MK in at least a month!

The plaque has an inspirational quote by Pausch, now deceased. He was once with WDI.

Ah. Thank you. I remember the plaque now, but its gone. It was a quote about always bringing something to the table. It was there maybe 3 weeks but is now gone. I wonder why.

Was it an "unofficial install" in the first place? I've seen folks do that before. Local managers get a good idea, parkwide WDI gets annoyed, and WDI wins. Just a guess, though.

It must have been moved then. I looked around for it the other day and couldn't find it in its original spot.

I know it was there with WDI's blessing though, there was a dedication ceremony that I just read about on our company website. I'll have to see if it was re-located or just taken out for some reason and returned.
