  • [Fun] Soarin' sheet music for piano!

    Hello, denizens of the WDW forum! I posted this in the Disneyland forum already, but I'm realizing it's just as applicable here, so why the heck not? Anyway, to more or less quote my other post:

    I'm absolutely in love the music Jerry Goldsmith wrote for Soarin', every second of it. Starting in the last half of 2008, I started arranging it by ear for piano, as I am wont to do with music I love, and I posted a performance of it on YouTube in September:

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4HJ8W3l3m8M&feature=channel_page"]Soarin'[/ame]

    But my arrangements change over time, and I think I've vastly improved it since then, and I felt like writing it down so I could share it. So...yeah, here it is, for those of you who like playing piano and would like to play this particular score without having to figure it all out.

    LINK

    If you're a piano player, take a look, give it a shot if you want, let me know what you think. I suppose I'm more interesting in notation-related critiques than ones about the arrangement itself; I know some parts aren't terribly idiomatic, but it fits pretty well under the hands and it's fun to play and it sounds faithful to the original.

    Enjoy, and please don't try to redistribute this for money or anything! :P (Also, if you happen to have seen a similar post of mine on another unrelated board - not to mention the DL forum - I apologize for the partial copy-and-pasting...it just seemed more efficient than typing up a whole new message.)

    Wow, this is amazing. Thank you so much for posting this!

    My piano skills are very lacking, but I can tell this is a fantastic version for piano. It sounds as though Goldsmith himself arranged it!

    I too am a huge fan of Goldsmith's score. It fits remarkably well with the entire feel of both attractions as well as what is being seen on the screen. His other scores are just as remarkable, like Rudy and The Blue Max.

    You definitely caught the feel and sound amazingly well. Thank you.

        This is so cool. Great job! At the speed I play it, it sounds like a two year old banging the keys, though :lol:
        Might need to go back to lessons so I can play this properly! Thanks for sharing!

                      Unfortunately, I don't have sheet music for the vast majority of what I play. I learn it all by ear, and every now and then, I put some of it down in sheet music form, but doing so is difficult with my current setup, I'm afraid.

                        I had no problem downloading the music...

                        Fun, thank you.
