Interesting bits

The exhibit will open with the new film, narrated by the actor Morgan Freeman. At a certain point, the Abraham Lincoln figure will rise and speak to the audience, as it always has, but now it will deliver the Gettysburg Address in its entirety.

“And this is the first time George Washington will have a speaking role,” said Kathy Rogers, a senior show producer for Walt Disney Imagineering, the unit that oversees the creative side of the theme parks.

But the emotional high point is intended to be the introduction of the Obama figure, who will yet again be heard taking the oath.

I do like Morgan Freeman as a narrator... I have high hopes for the film segment.

Well, his speeches have always been completely scripted and robotic. I guess Robama won't be much different from telepromobama.

Out of all the new offerings this year (new Space, Stitch show, American Idol, DVCs, etc) THIS is the one I am most excited about. Disney at its patriotic best.

I hope it's as good as it seems...

It won't be open in time for my next trip in June. I have always loved HoP, I'm with you Yoyo, I'm REALLY looking forward to this.

But I guess it will give me a good excuse to go back!

Geez, how many times does he have to take the oath? Will there be an animatronic Supreme Court Justice getting it slightly wrong again?

Glad they're continuing to have the current president speak, as the rumours had suggested otherwise.

I'm not a fan of the HoP. It's boring, I'm sorry. Yes, I actually do like History quite alot...I just find the show boring. Same goes for the America show at Epcot. But, my husband loves both shows...so, I'm sure we'll be watching it on our next trip.

I agree with you. HoP in particular should have been shut down years ago, when guests started the sad trend of booing or applauding for their favorite prez, as opposed to "refraining from applause until the end of the show to preserve it's dignity and for respect".

Doubtful. People have no class. Honestly, the only thing that would make me visit this show is if they ever put an AA of that fun yoyo flamingo from Fantasia 2000. Now that would perk up that big yawner of a show.

I love Morgan Freeman. Such a soothing voice. Hope this add a new dimention to the attraction.
