The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that at approx 10am this morning (EST) one of the monorails servicing the resorts and the Magic Kingdom, was seen spewing smoke as it approached the Magic Kingdom Platform.
The train was immediately stopped and a tractor was called in to tow the monorail into the station. At the time there were about 25 passengers on the train who had to wait 10 minutes to be unloaded. There were no injuries, nor was there any fire.
Investigators have determined that the cause of the smoke was actually due to an electrical short in the control booth at the platform.
At this time Monorail service on the Magic Kingdom line has been suspended until further notice while engineers review the system.
