It looks to me like it's happening:

• Wand from Spaceship Earth is gone
• Defunct Innoventions doors have been reopened
• New breezeway flooring in Innoventions
• Salmon pinks are being replaced with electric blues and greens
• Universe of Energy has been re-painted to its original colors
• Fountain of Nations has been refurbished
• New railings abound
• The original EPCOT Center logo has been popping up all over the place

EPCOT finally seems to be getting some TLC which is removing the tacky remnants of the late 90's.

Couldn't have said it better myself! Also the tacky awnings around Innoventions and Fountain of Nations have begone to disappear. 1995-2005 was not a good decade for Epcot, but I think the future looks bright.

A very happy birthday to Epcot Center. I really think the show of fan support for Celebration 25 helped, and I'll be sure to be there for Epcot's 30th.

Oh, YAY! That wand was like pinstriping thrown on a classic car - may have looked cool once, but certainly not what was intended in the original aesthetics.

And I never understood the salmon colors.

Happy Birthday EPCOT Center! I made my first trip there in the summer of 1985, the park was only 3 years old at the time. My second trip was 3 years later in 1988. I've been there many times since then, but I'm very happy I was able to see the park in the beginning. Epcot is still my favorite of the WDW theme parks.

You see? now you got me started... Why not kill the Innoventions name altogether and replace it with something more "original".. like.. hmm.. CommuniCORE. That's it!!! And while we are at it.. lets take down the tacky neon blues and greens and return it to a more subdued and dignified tan, pastels or light shades of the colors that now make the area look like a rainbow explosion. And finally.. why not take down that goddawful Pin station and the cable-style ceiling over that CommuniCORE Plaza??? Now that would be a major facelift, not to mention.. a huge improvement.
Want more improvement..? lets give away with the Mausoleum at the front of Spaceship Earth and return EPCOT Center's main entrance to a more beautiful, flower and greenery filled welcome plaza. Considering how important Conservation efforts are to many now a days.. it would be the proper way to enter Walt's vision of the Future. Don't you think?

From my understanding, Walt Disney's vision of the Future, would have changed with the times. He would be one of the first people to openly embrace the way times change and how things are different because of it... recycle, reconsider ideas, yes, but just go back ???
Don't forget that the Magic Kingdom was designed, learning from the mistakes of Disneyland.
If we could resurrect his spirit and have him tour "his Parks" he would be horrified at how some things have changed, but I'd lay money that there are some things where the comment would be "why is that still around, why hasn't somebody thought of something better to go there", and for some of the changes he'd be amazed at how much better it is.

I would like to see that. I miss how nice the entrance used to be.
