Yes, with the old girl mere days from reopening, DisneyParks Blog has received a long awaited look at the newly-finished Space Mountain.
With all new black lighting,atmosphere and extended storyline, SM also seems to be showcasing a prototype of the "interactive queue" planned for the new Dueling Dumbos attraction in Fanastyland. >:3

Wow. A new ceiling and some new queue railings. NEWS WORTHY!!!1!!

I don't even think the rigid style of the 1970s wall panels matches the new retro-cool curves of the neon on the ceiling.

I mean...I knew we were getting very little. But the juxtaposition of the new style with the unchanged old...sigh.

No more flying chocolate chip cookies? That sucks. I actually liked being able to "see" and at least hear the ride from the queue (back in the day when they actually used it. I wonder why they abandoned the queue and then brought it back as a "refresh"? That doesn't really make much sense to me.

hrmm... I think I'll wait before judging... has a lot of risk of going bad I think, but could come out slick (like the loading area of DL's space)

wow!! never saw the original, but that new picture looks pretty intense. I don't exactly understand the location though, is it overlooking the ride or what? or is it just on one side of the double station?

That's one side of the double station, the ride is above that.

I'll be witholding judgement until I see more.

Yes! The newly redesigned queue will make merging fastpass and standby less stressful for the cast. The enclosed load area will also create a darker track area for a more enveloped ride experience.

I think it looks wicked. The last time I visited WDW, back in 2007, we were dismayed at the HM and SM. Good to see both are getting some attention.

THen I moved down to see the "after-LIFE" game and stumbled across the five foods you should try at EPCOT.

Shows you my priorities.

It looks pretty cool to me...I like that the neon actually does flow with the lines of the old 70s decor on the walls...It's refreshing as compared with just the all white off white gray decor that was there before...

I wonder what else they did just besides adding the neon to the ceiling, and the interactive qeue seems like a nice touch too, though I will miss the pictures of space nebulas etc.

I'll miss them too, and the background music was so peaceful...I loved that queue. It'll be nice to be inside the entire time again and to see it actually used, but it's also going to be much more frenetic and chaotic I fear, which might be less appealing to me.

I look forward to hearing reports and seeing for myself in December.

It looks pretty cool though I really hope they haven't gotten rid of the "Star Tunnel" music. Though I'm a DLR regular, I've only been to WDW 3 times: when I was 2, 6, and this past May (I'm 22 now), so I have never ridden WDW's Space Mountain. I plan to go again this coming May and really hope to hear that music. Though I've never experienced it in person, I love that music so much, it is so beautiful, and really hope I can put a true experienced setting to it once and for all in May.
