  • [Question] Help needed for Late December Orlando Trip!

Myself and my family will be celebrating the holidays in sunny Orlando from Dec. 28-Jan. 6,

We'll most possibly be hitting WDW last, either New Year's Eve or afterwords.
We'll be visiting AK in the morning and HS in the late afternoon.
But I wonder what attractions to FastPass and which to visit first.

Also, My dad has been recovering from surgery for a year and a half now,
so I wonder if he's ready for the major tenants(Hulk,Manta,Everest, etc.)

If you plan on visiting WDW on New Year's Eve, pick ONE park (I'd say MK or EPCOT or even the Studios... AK will still close early), get there when they open and plan on staying there ALL DAY. The parks WILL reach capacity and they WILL stop allowing people in at various points, so park hopping is NOT recommended.

I wouldn't recommend the Hulk for someone who's had recent surgery. I find that ride just too rough. I haven't ridden Manta. As for Everest, I guess he would have to ask his doctor if he can handle thrill rides which are not too extreme.

Just returned form a fabulous week in WDW, celebrating the holidays. To answer your question, you mist first decide which, if any, of the Theme Park decorations you really want to see. EPCOT has some awesome extra holiday fireworks and the Spectacle of Dancing Lights at HS are also fun. It will be crowded as aimster said, Park Hopping will be limited if not statying on Property.

^We were originally going to see Illuminations back when we planned our stay in October, but Epcot was let go do to budget.
          UPDATE!
We are no longer going to the parks New Year's Eve, but rather a short time after to let the crowd levels air out a bit(probably Jan. 3 or 4)

We are still just visiting AK and HS, any more advice Forum?

At Animal Kingdom, I would suggest getting there right when it opens. Head over to Everest to get Fast Passes and then get in line for the Safari. Two other rides to try are Kali River Rapids and Dinosaur.

For Hollywood Studios, I would also suggest getting there right when it opens. Head straight back to Toy Story Midway Mania. You should then FastPass Tower of Terror while riding Rocking 'n' Roller Coaster.

I have found that you can cut the wait time if you hop in the single rider line. You probably will not be sitting with anyone in your party, but it is worth it to not have to wait.

            Have fun!

dead_mau5, if your family has never ridden Toy Story Midway Mania before, I would recommend each of you getting a fast pass for that ride first thing in the morning, and getting in line for it. Your family will likely want to ride it again, but the standby lines get scary fast. Pretty much the only way to experience TSMM more than once in a day is to take advantage of the morning lineups for it, and fast pass it at least once. The other popular rides like Tower will have shorter standby lines all day, and fast passes available much later in the day.
