  • [Question] Who was your favorite narrator of the Christmas Candlelight Processional?

The Christmas Candlelight Processional at EPCOT is the absolute most beautiful and stirring Christmas music production in the entire country. I never cease to be moved and inspired by the scripture read by the narrator or the heavenly voices of the mass choir, accompanied by the orchestra. Thus far my favorite narrators have been Phylicia Rashad, Louis Gossett jr, and John Goodman. Each these extraordinary celebrities brought a depth and quality that touched my heart and truly opened my soul to the words I have heard many times since I was a child.

I know many of you have experienced this spirit-filled Christmas celebration, either at EPCOT or Disneyland; who was your favorite narrator and why?

My wife just reminded me that her favorite narrator was John Schneider (from Dukes of Hazard)! Yes, Honey, he also was wonderful...

I only got to see the Candlelight Processional once and it was done by John OHurley,(host of Family Feud, and from Dancing w/the Stars, Seinfeld) he was good but I can't say I have a favorite cause there is nothing to compare it to. I'd like to see it again next year but will again be limited to who ever happens to be scheduling during my visit. I will admit that I thought the reader had a bigger role in the processional than they do.

We have seen Rita Moreno, John O'Hurley, Marlee Maitlin and Andy Garcia. We enjoyed them all. Andy Garcia was the speaker when our kids went and they recognized him and that added to the experience. My personal favorite was Rita moreno, she seemed truely moved by the experience.
I also love to watch the signers during the show. They are amazing.

I'm gonna take you back a few years, to Disneyland in the mid-70's, and a man named Jimmy Stewart. He did it in 1975. The scene wasn't quite as lavish as today's, but you still had the assembled choirs, the (Anaheim) Western High School "living Christmas tree" - the train station, all of it - it's a memory that still brings chills. Even on a cool, damp night, you can imagine the job Mr. Stewart did.

Other favorites included Rock Hudson, Cary Grant and Ed Asner among many others that I saw in person.

Hard to top Mr. Stewart's performance, though. I haven't been back to see the processional since I left the park's employ in 1982. I would love to have seen Louis Gossett.

I would have loved to see Jimmy Stewart! I love him...when I was younger my Grandma asked me, "Jimmy Stewart or Cary Grant?" I said Jimmy Stewart and she told me that I didn't have good taste lol! I, personally, think that Jimmy Stewart trumps Cary Grant anyday!

Currently who would I like to see do the Candlelight Processional?? I have seen Dick Van Dyke do it at Disneyland and that was the best one I have seen. I love Dick Van Dyke, so I would like to see him do it again or maybe Sean Connery. He has such an amazing voice.....That would be amazing!!

One is one of the great actors, comic and dramatic, of the 20th Century.

The other is "the" James Bond, as far as I'm concerned.

Couldn't go too far wrong, either way!
