I am at Disneyworld for Christmas vacation and I am going to go to Animal Kingdom for the first time. I check the weather forecast every day. Today it is supposed to rain. I am just wondering, will rain effect any of the rides and trails, especially Kilomanjaro Safaries? Any answers would really help. Thanks. :-)

Re: Does rain affect............
Rain isn't so much an issue as lightning. If there is lighting, I know at least Everest closes, and possibly Kali. The safaris should be good no matter what, but I wouldn't worry too much until there is the threat of lightning. It's a Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah...Tip for Today!

Re: Does rain affect............
It usually doesn't rain all day- or everyday.
DAK ALWAYS clears out after some rain, so I'd just wait it out. You'll have EE, KS, Kali, etc to yourself. You might want to catch some of the finest Disney shows on Earth- Nemo and FotLK. It's a win-win.

Re: Does rain affect............
My favorite thing to do is in the summer when it does rain everyday like clockwork to head or stay close to shops until the rain is over, if I'm in a shop I can easily look out at everyone in th e rain scrambling to put ponchos etc ononly to have it stop raining as soon as they are finished...The test of success is not what you do when you are on top. And yeah, due to el nino, this winter has been a bit wetter than normal. The sun it out today, but it's currently 61 in Orlando according to The Weather Channel. Brrrrr! That's cold for us Floridians!

Re: Does rain affect............
I'm not sure what rain affects, but lightning can be a bit of a frustration at the parks.
We were at DHS one day when torrents of rain started to pour down. It ended up being quite a storm. After I split off from my family and got some FP's for RnR, we all met at Star Tours. We were getting ready to load when all of the sudden, the power went out! It was out for only a little while, but when it did come back on, the automatic doors started going crazy! We talked to the CMs, and they said that lightning had struck Space Mountain, and that a whole bunch of rides had been messed up by the strike, even though it was in a different park. Apparently, even ToT was stuck. It just goes to show that no matter how technically advanced humans get, nature can always mess it up.
