Re: Dinoland U.S.A. Makeover....
It sounds like a pretty good idea. A little more similar to the Jurassic Park area at Universal Studios.-Hale (wumbology)

[But I'm pretty good with the information, if I do say so myself. And you can hit me all you want with Walt Disney World.])

Re: Dinoland U.S.A. Makeover....
The only thing is that the current Dinoland is modeled after Route 66, and that is kind of why it seems as tacky as it is. However, I would not object to any changes they make. I'm not really attached to the area. Just pointing out some of the reasoning behind the current theming.

Re: Dinoland U.S.A. Makeover....
I would love to see an area where kids could interact a bit with AA dinosaurs. Maybe a little bit like Lucky, but stationary. Perhaps a hatchery where baby dinos could be exhibited? It would be a great educational oprotunity for kids, and plus, I imagine that they could add a couple of humorous elements, such as baby dinos spitting at random times. Maybe they could have cast members have jr. dinokeepers, which are kids who are supposed to help out take care of the "dinos". I'd like it a lot more then what's there now.
Also, does anyone know if the raptor fountain behind Dinosaur works? When I went there, it wasn't working and I thought that it would be cool if they set it to a touch trigger and hide a speaker in it's snout so when it's touched, it growls and starts spurting water from it's mouth.

I don't mind Chester and Hester's as a sort of gateway area, if what came after was something truly spectacular as you're describing. Especially the Dinosaur Jungle Cruise, since it was replace Dinousaur, which even my scary-ride immune girlfriend found just loud and annoying (and I refused to get within a mile of).
I always thought the Excavator sounded cool, though I wonder if Disney wants another coaster in Animal Kingdom for a while after Everest."A paradise for children--and for grownups, too. I don't know when I've had so much fun."-Richard Nixon on Disneyland

Hey Baby-T, after discovering the source of your Pterodactyl spinner concept art, I found another interesting piece of concept art on the same site:
I think this would be another fun concept to add to your Dinoland. Basically, it's a rock-climbing wall filled with fossils and hidden surprises to discover on the way up. It'd be a perfect attraction to place near the Boneyard play area.

There were plans and the infrastructure was in place for an interactive AA dino in the Cretaceous Trail, it was an Acrocanthosaurus. Theen they had some problems with the River Iguanodon in the Discovery River, so they were going to use it as an interactive dino also near the dig site, but it was all about money and cancelled both projects even though the AA figures were already built and working.

Re: Dinoland U.S.A. Makeover....
I'd love to see some of these great concepts incorporated into Dinoland USA. I know I may be one of the only ones that Does like and appreciate Dinoland as it is today, I mean the story behind it is perfected and amazing....I'd like to see at least some of these if no beastly kingdomme. I'm thinking we could keep Dinoland...but somehow expand and update the Dino Institute so that there's another entire "subland" where we can travel back in time, and experience all of these awesome rides.
I don't understand why disney didn't just take the plunge and go for something like this a while ago. They could've had a whole campaign from the Dino Institute about their new discovery. Same with Beastly Kingdomme...but that's a different story.Matt!

Originally posted by DRSeeker View PostOriginally, when Dinoland first opened there was a tent called Dinosaur Jubilee, where there fossils and dinosaur bones just like a museum and was pretty informative also. Then they actually had a little booth where a an actual anthropologist was working on uncovered actual dinosaur bones, it was on loan from the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago. The dino was Dino Sue, and there is an exact copy outside of the Dinosaur attraction.
