[Question] First Trip Questions and suggestions??

I will finally be taking my first trip to Disneyworld on March 5th!!!!

Im pretty excited, i leave that friday after school from AZ then come home Monday March 8th. I will also be running in the Disney Princess Family 5k, and my aunts are running the 1/2 marathon!!!

I know its not long, so I wanted to know the Do's and Don'ts!!!

    Any suggestions?

by the way, I was planning on doing the American Idol Experience... Is it worth it?

    Thanks!

How long will you be staying? Will you be staying on property?

    I'm from AZ as well.

The American Idol experience is totally worth it. If you audition it only takes a few minutes, so if you don't get in, it won't feel like your day was wasted. And if you actually get on, it's loads of fun.

Pick the attractions and the parks that you most want to see. You're not going to get anywhere near to seeing and doing everything. Other than the time you have to dedicate for the marathon, try to be at the parks at opening and at closing, when you'll find the least crowds. If you want to see a super headliner like Soarin', try to be at Epcot at park opening, or get a Fastpass early in the day.

If you're familiar with Disneyland, don't go on similar attractions just to see the differences. Skip Pirates, Soarin', Tower of Terror, etc. I would suggest you hit the Haunted Mansion, though - it really is superior now to the DL version. Make sure you see unique attractions like the Hall of Presidents and the American Adventure.

Above all - relax. As I said, you're not gonna see everything, so take your time and enjoy the things you do get to see. Good luck!

Many rides are so much like DLR that there's no reason for a DL vet to do them on a short trip. Some things you shouldn't miss; Expedition Everest at AK, in fact, AK is so unique, it could be a major part of your visit. The only duplication I can think of is ITTBAB. At MK, Mickey's Philharmagic is incredible. It's the only 3D show unique to WDW, and by far the best. You should probably do Monster Inc Laugh Floor too. Splash Mountain is much better at WDW, so should be worth a FP. DHS has Beauty and the Beast and Lights Motor Action, shows you may want to see. And Epcot has a ton of great stuff, so much it's hard to make recommendations without knowing what you like. Some things I like a lot are the acrobats in China, OffKilter, British Invasion and all the things presented at the American pavilion. And of course, Spaceship Earth.
Good luck in the race, and enjoy your weekend.
