Re: New Country coming to Epcot?

The "New World Showcase Country" is something that seems cursed. There's a ton of potential additions that have come close to creation, but the sponsoring country or companies end up backing out for some reason (ranging from costs being too high to entire governments collapsing, in the case of the USSR). World Showcase is tied with the animal parts of Animal Kingdom for my favorite thing at WDW, and I truly hope a new country or region does come to pass in the near future. I'm not holding my breath though.

If it helps any, Spain, Israel, and Equatorial Africa have been "coming soon" since 1983.

I think Spian would fit in well......and there is always more space...............maybe paviloin of countries by region, like South America,

But Russia and Australia/New Zealand would be great too!

Quite close to my suggestion. I was going to say that Belgium would make a nice addition.

Brugge would make a wonderful setting, especially if they got a chocolatier on board.

I agree, let's get something completely different, something that isn't represented in any of the parks.

    Russia
    Ukraine
    Brazil
    Argentina
    Columbia
    Egypt

Something just off the wal awesome!

Back on 05 I was privy to some talks about a Russian pavilion. Disney had a US senator come down, and there were all sorts of talks... blah blah blah... the Senator who was involved was convinced that I would be able to help open it in a few years. Needless to say it didn't happen. There have been numerous high level talks, but I am never quite sure at which point these talks break down... now it would be easy to say pricetag, but people know that overall costs before they step into these talks.

le sigh... I want a Russian pavilion.

If they did do a new country, they'd be much better off building something different than the over-represented European countries. I'd suggest India, Russia, or Brazil. AND they should only do it if they spend the money to do it right and build a quality ride. World Showcase is long on shopping, dining and movies and way too short on attractions.

Still, this article is nothing more than a summary of rumors from MiceChat and elsewhere. There's probably a grain of truth in there, but the reporter certainly doesn't know what it is.

Spain would fit very well between Morocco and France. The architecture of the south of Spain looks very much like Morocco.

Who knows... maybe it's true this time. These rumors have existed since the park opened and they have the space.

The article basically cites 'the internet' as its source...

Nothing to see here, moving on. Some website just put all the rumors together in one post.
