  • [Question] The Attraction(s) of "Yay!"

    Hello all,

Reflecting on our family's recent visit to the MK, I would be remiss if I didn't mention things we really enjoyed. Surprisingly, Aladdin's Magic Carpets and Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor were both relaxing and enjoyable... probably because wait times were minimal to non-existant and our expectations were also minimal. These are far from my favorites but they left us all smiling and satisfied.

But I have to say the attraction we enjoyed most was Country Bear Jamboree. Classic Disney that left us all happy, energized and refreshed. From the exit music ("We hope that you'll be coming back again!") to the smell of fried onions as you exit into Pecos Bill's, there's something about the CBJ that gets me every time.

So how about it, MiceChatters? Which attractions (MK, DL or otherwise) leave you with a smile on your face and magic in your hearts? Which Disney attractions make your soul shout "Yay!" time and time again?

      Tally Ho! Now you're talking!

Seriously, one of the great things about waiting in the Toad queue was watching the expressions of pure joy on the faces of the riders as the emerged from the gates of, well, you know. And that's exactly the feeling of "yay" I'm talking about. Hard to describe but easy to recognize. As opposed to, say, what guests look like when they exit the Tiki Room Under New Management.

After riding it a sudden feeling of joy would overcome me, I know no other way to describe a attraction of such magnitude as,"Mr.Toad's Wild Ride".

Dumbo does it for me, as I ride it first thing on an early morning in either park.

This is going to sound silly... but I get that feeling from the Primeval World Exhibit on the train inside Disneyland.

The Tomorrowland Transit Authority People Mover is my #1 favorite at the Magic Kingdom.

                Spaceship Earth at Epcot.

Tower of Terror at the Studios

Safari at Animal Kingdom as well as the fantastic animal walks in Asia, Africa, and around the Tree of Life.

All of these attractions are smile inducing. Most are relaxed (Tower excepting) and slower paced.

As silly as it may sound--Mad Tea Party-- I have been on Kingda Ka at Great Adventure several times and 128 mph and 450 feet in the air and a corkscrew on the way down, doesn't get me like the tea cups.....makes my 8 year old Gracie belly laugh at me every time (now thats worth every penny).

[But I'm pretty good with the information, if I do say so myself. And you can hit me all you want with Walt Disney World.])

Big Thunder... it is just so much FUN.
                            Good morning, son
                            In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
                            It was pain
                            Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

                              Re: The Attraction(s) of "Yay!"

Teacups...always have always will be the most YAY I have for my buck something about spinning everyone in the car so fast and seeing the expressions on their face as the world turns to a blur...one time our brakes were going on the cup I was in and we kept spinning even post ride

This is followed quickly by Tower of Terror, I get my bang for my buck here due to the fact it was my Papa's favorite ride, one time we wanted a picture with everyone on it and had to ride it 13 times in a row(slow time in the park) because he had so much fun he thought we wouldn't ride it again if he didn't screw up the picture(he had alzheimers so it kinda went with the territory) still one of my fondest memories of all my Disney Trips..

At Epcot it's Test Track, always been big into cars so this ride really gets me raring to start my day at the parks, spescially screaming around the track outside

don't have a YAY ride at AK, I've only been to that park 3 total times and nothing there yet for me, Everest is cool but doesn't produce the YAY your talking about..
The test of success is not what you do when you are on top. Success is how high you bounce when you hit bottom.

Since Florida is my most visited resort, these are all from there.

                                  Peter Pan
                                  Mr. Toad
                                  World of Motion
