  • More Armchair Imagineering from DNC

This is my new thread for all my armchair Imagineering for WDW so I can keep track of it all.

First Order of Buisness: Animation Center Orlando

This came about on a boring afternoon at work after I was pondering to myself about the sad state of Disney animation, and how much I wished I could remodel the Dolphin.

The building is sanstone in color, with sea blue glass and white and black marble to ornament it. The area under the main skylight is a giant foyer, Pixar style.

I've tried to blend Graves with my own style, which has came out... interesting.

    (Opinions are Welcome...)

Sorry, I didn't make myself clear - it's a new Animation Building in Orlando and is a parody of the Dolphin (and Graves)

Animation is such a corner stone of Disney, it really merits an entire land.

I think that Disney Studios could be remodeled to focus more on Animation and Animation history. This would create more of a "Fantasyland" for that park. It would compliment the current "kiddieland" approach right now.

Also I believe that this is a great idea for DCA. Most of the classic Disney Animated movies were all done in California. Walt started in cartoons by putting real people into the cartoons. That was perfected with Mary Poppins. How about trying to do that in an Amusement park? Here is where you imagination is supposed to fill in the rest.

Lol Isn't that Animation Courtyard right now? I mean between Little Mermaid, Playhouse Disney and the run-around activity center...lol maybe just one more thing to formalize it.

Looks more like the Swan collided with the Headquarters building.

I don't know why people give Graves so much heat, except perhaps that the non-glassy elements of his buildings always look a little plain. Gehry has his hits (Disney concert hall) and misses (TDA-HQ) as well.

Ghery has his misses and misses. I'm not a Ghery fan. Graves' work I like.

You certainly have quite a design there.
