  • [Question] Captain EO

Has there been any news on how long EO will stay? I start my CP in January and will super disappointed if they change it back before I get there!

Not until the popularity dies down I believe. I think it should last until Summer 2011.

Yeah, that pretty makes sense about it. EO is a hold over until Star Tours 2 opens(that's only in DL.) As for Epcot Center(after they open ST2 in DHS), I don't know, they could keep it as long or as short as TDO wants it(more likely they might bring back HISTA for Epcot Center) but hey, TDO's focus right now is to get their Fantasyland Expansion right(with internal battles within TDO, about what stays and what goes.)

Also, this picture and my Avatar was taken with a Nintendo DSi System and Nyko Magnification Lens & Case for DSi.

I kinda hope it goes and goes quickly. This is an example of "dated" material... Seriously though if they want to bring back a vintage attraction, how about Toad?

On the other hand I know why they brought it back and it does make sense, dead artists generate a bunch of money.

I know, as much as I like EO back at the parks, I don't like how they are just using it too make money off of MJ's death. The same goes for "This Is It" and the albums they are going to release soon. :/

Why not just keep it? It'll probably be better than a random Pixar replacement that disney's so keen to do these days.

I haven't seen it in years so I can't state for sure but I'd rather have EO than HISTA.

There's HUGE difference between bringing back a movie based attraction and bringing back something like Toad, with sets, vehicles, ride track, queue - it's just a gigantic effort to build a ride, where changing out a movie and a couple of effects is pretty simple.

Yes, EO is dated. But HISTA was just plain embarrassing.

                      Thirded.

EO is still fun. HISTA was never fun (at least for me... maybe it's because I hated the movies too).
