  • News Murder in Celebration, FL

Yahoo has released this starling article about an unsolved murder in the town of Celebration, FL.

Now, before I'm scolded and given the technicalities that Celebration is no longer governed by Disney, I am aware of this. But given the history of the town, I felt it was important to share.

This title needs to change. Celebration is no longer owned by disney, and is not on Disney Property. I thought about posting this story, but it does not relate to WDW.

        Re: Murder in Celebration, FL

I've changed the thread title to be more accurate.

On the topic of the thread, though, I'm very sorry to hear about this. I hope this remains an isolated incident.

Well it was bound to happen sometime. Not every town can be perfect. Especially my town.

Though the event is tragic, it is nice to know that the community recognized that he (who as a single senior night go unnoticed in other communities) was missing.

Yikes! A second death, this time it was the person in question. It sounds like it was an isolated incident.

Eep! A shootout-suicide? That's a crazier death than the first one.

I know it's highly unlikely that the two deaths are connected, but hey, you never know.

Maybe Disney should buy the town back?

                          Re: Murder in Celebration, FL

Well, this certainly won't be good for home values after already dipping over 50% from the top of the bubble.
In any case, I wonder how Celebration residents felt when Disney divested themselves of the town a few years ago. One of the reasons I would have bought in is because of the Disney connection, and Disney's need to maintain it to top standard as a showcase. I would have been livid when Disney left because that connection is why property prices were so high in the first place.

Well this is where I would like to live, if I lived in FL.

At first I was horrified (well I mean I am ... thy both are horrible). But then I realized that there are several murders a year in my town (mostly gang related), so one in 14 years isn't that bad.

The second one seemed like a crazy, and that happens everywhere. At least it just himself (and the cops).
                              Good morning, son

Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
                              It was pain
                              Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

...they arrested a homeless guy who may have done it.
