The Chilean miners who were trapped deep underground for 69 days will be getting a dose of Mickey and Minnie as they begin a seven-day trip to Walt Disney World Resort in Florida today.

Disney President and CEO Bob Iger invited the miners and their families on the expenses-paid vacation shortly after their rescue last year. Thirty-one of the 33 miners took him up on the offer.

The group of 160, which also includes four rescuers, plans to visit all four Disney World theme parks.

The miners will make a public appearance as grand marshals of a special parade at Magic Kingdom on Monday afternoon, but otherwise are "on vacation," according to a Disney spokesman.

    33 out of 69?
Perhaps the rest went to the Tokyo Disney Resort...

It says 31 out of 33. Maybe you should read more carefully and stop being so negative all the time.

I hope the weather isn't chilly when they visit. I hear Disney is preparing Walt's favorite dish... chili... with chile peppers for the Chilean miners... so chill!

If you read any article at all about the miners, you'd know that it was 33 miners trapped. They were trapped for 69 days. Picking two numbers out of the post in an effort to make WDW sound bad just makes you sound worse.

Anyways. I'm glad the families are able to enjoy their time without being centers of attention the whole time they're there. They deserve some vacation time.

I wonder if they'll travel as a group and have a group leader walking up front holding a flag up and swarm the character meet'n'greets and shout soccer chants...

They should show them riding Big Thunder. Takes them 2 minutes to get out of a mine. What a relief.
