  • [Question] GAYS: Please read

First of all, thank you to everyone who took the time to respond to my last thread about finding booze on property (or off, rather!)

I come to you with another request, this time for my fellow homosexuals!

I'm going to WDW with 2 of my gay bffs and we're looking into stuff to do. I doubt there's anything like there used to be at Pleasure Island (on the property) - but is there anything we should know or check out? We won't have a car and would PREFER to stay on the property, but my searches have indicated no such thing exists? I could be wrong?

Anyway, I have no idea what the scene is like in Orlando, someone told me to go downtown, but if there's anything GAYYYY on or off the property that you feel we should check out while we're there, whether it's a dive bar or a huge club or a leather bar - anything helps!

    Thanks again!

    Parliament House?

It's scary a straight chick knows about that place.

    There's also a Hamburger Mary's in Orlando.

Thank you! I will definitely check into this, even if their website is atrocious.

not really the appropriate title for this forum.

However there is a lot in Orlando that caters to the LGBT community.

          1. Parliament House
          2. Pulse
          3. Rain
          4. Savoy
          5. Hanks
          6. Club Orlando

There is really something for everyone. I suggest getting on a site that provides more specific information for details on what each of these venues offer.

I don't think Rain is having a gay night anymore.

            And don't forget www.mrsisters.com

There are a lot of great different gay bars in Orlando. However, they aren't close to WDW. You'll have to drive at least 20 or 30 mins off property. There's a few on Orange Ave and Edgewater Drive. Pulse is pretty good if you like to dance. I'll be there for Gay Days staying at Yacht Club. It's gonna be great!

I haven't really done any of the gay stuff in or around Orlando - when I get to the parks I tend to stay on property the whole time. Except for a brief jaunt to Starbucks in the AM. I'm told there's plenty to do, I just haven't experienced it yet. So, yay for me being super helpful?

Don't bother with Parliament House, unless it's Gay Days because then it's cray-cray. Otherwise it's just creepy. Pulse and Mr. Sisters are the two clubs/bars to visit. You'll find all the college boys and hotties at these two places, but unless you know someone, the crowds are a bit clique-y. Savoy and Paradise are alright for a low-key, dive-esque night of drinking, but people-watching is hit or miss.

I suggest getting a taxi to get you around town. It might be a bit pricey, Disney is about 30-40 miles from Downtown Orlando, and most of the clubs/bars are a bit beyond that (Except Pulse, it's a few exits beforehand).

If you want something gay-oriented on property, just watch a parade or show in the parks and you'll see plenty of gay haha.

Today, I feel like driving through a cursed temple, taking a tour of a haunted antebellum mansion, plunging down a waterfall in a hollowed-out log, bobsledding down a famous swiss mountain, traveling through the darkest recesses of space, and watching fireworks explode over a fantastical castle.

                        Yeah, that sounds fun.

There are two events on property that you could check out. Friday night there is a party at Typhoon Lagoon. Sunday there is a tea dance at Epcot taking place at Odyssey from 5pm-9pm with a viewing of Illuminations afterward.

You can find out more info at Gay Day Orlando Weekend

I'll be staying at Saratoga Springs.
