  • [Question] Dancer/Parade Performer at WDW

    Hi everyone!

For a long time now it has been my dream to work at Disney World, preferably in the entertainment area. I was wondering, how difficult it is to get a role as a dancer or parade performer at the resort? I'm not very picky about what I do exactly, I wouldn't mind being a fur character either. Any performing/character job would be great as long as it doesn't involve singing. I have been dancing since I was six. I used to do ballet and modern, and I was in an amateur company in middle school. Currently I'm on my high school's dance team. I'm 15 and I'll be a junior in the fall. I wouldn't say I'm the best technical dancer, but I'm not the worst either. I love to perform! Any advice?
    p.s. I'm 5'4"

Ok sorry, didnt see that. Lol I'm 16 now and im audition on May 19. Im kind of scarred cause some places say you have to be 18 while the audition site says 16, but i emailed disney and they said 18. idk what to believe! Lol

Disney World lets you audition at 16, Disneyland requires you to be 18. I would suggest checking out disneyauditions.com and look for parade auditions. From those, they will pull people for face and fur but they won't necessarily pull for parade from face/fur auditions. If you're looking for a type of dance to get into, I would suggest (from experience) that you look into jazz, modern, and/or ballet. Especially jazz. Also watch parades online and see what it is that they do. They're fairly simple steps so it's all about smiling and making them big! Break a leg!
