  • [Question] Honeymoon at WDW

We are planning our Honeymoon at WDW for July 2-9 next year. I was wondering if anyone had done the Honeymoon registry before or had their honeymoon at WDW and can give some tips? I've been lots of times but the groom has never been

    Thanks in advance!

Can't tell you of the honeymoon stuff, but expect that timeframe in July to be busy as Independence Day falls smack dab in the middle of that week (Wednesday) and lots of people will probably take the week off work on vacation. Either that or some will take the first part of the week off and others the 2nd part. But the 4th will definitely be VERY busy.

I've thought about that as I've been to WDW during that time period before. I've even thought of delaying the Honeymoon but I always seem to wind up at the parks in the fall lol

        Re: Honeymoon at WDW

How about going later in the month or in August or September instead? July is really freaking HOT (I mean like Africa hot), plus it's right in the middle of the rainy season and the humidity can make it unbearable for those who aren't used to it.

September is more ideal as kids are back in school (just avoid Labor Day weekend) and while it's still hot, not as bad it would be in July... plus rainy season is getting over with at that point.

          Re: Honeymoon at WDW

My wife and I honeymooned in WDW a "few" years ago, although we didn't buy any packages. Don't be afraid to let people know it's your honeymoon. No guarantees, but you may get some perks. They upgraded my wife and I to a nicer view and bigger bed. We also got a basket of goodies waiting for us in our room. It's no big deal, but that type of stuff is really nice.

Have a great time, and post photos when you go.

I believe you can get "Just Married" buttons from Guest Services (like how you can get birthday buttons and "1st Visit" buttons).

              Re: Honeymoon at WDW

From the looks of the Honeymoon Registry website on Disney Weddings (if you're filling that out all the way), it looks like you'll be okay as long as you're dressed accordingly for humid weather and prep yourselves for holiday crowds. I would even recommend staying in one of the resorts where you could get a good view of the fireworks on the 4th without having to go into the actual parks and deal with crowds. Perhaps any of the resorts on the Seven Seas Lagoon or Crescent Lake (behind Epcot).

Other that that, make your dining reservations now. That is a must and then you can plan around that.
