Jim Hill's latest reports say Xpass will be free and open to all.. but is extremely limited (4 reservations per park).. so we'll see what happens.

That totally remains to be seen and is one reason why many are concerned.

One could ask that of the XPass/FP people as well, since most of the time, the lines are very short for said attraction.
Its not like this isn't / wouldn't be offered to everybody, it happens every day on pleanty of attractions in the parks. if you don't get it and you wait in the stand by line you made a conscious decision to do so, you have no one to be mad at but yourself. There is no point in arguing the issue any further because all were doing is talking in hypotheticals with no real info.

If its such a small minority of people getting this treatment and the line is constantly moving then how does this tick off people in the stand by line?

does waiting 2 more minutes really ruin your day?

I hope this is true! I also hope the fastpass distribution kiosk for this has a huge flying triangle canopy with a giant wand and neon lights reading "Epcot" topped by Stitch wearing a sorcerer's hat taking a bite out of it. That area needed some jazzing up anyway.

I bet this is just preparing for when Spaceship Earth is gutted and replaced by a roller coaster with a 200 person per hour capacity that has to have its speed reduced to a completely non-thrilling 5 mph 6 months after it reopens, because they don't realize that the building's structure can't handle the forces until after the thing is built.

Now if only they would make fastpasses for the peoplemover. I'm so sick of never having to wait for that thing.

I went just before Christmas 3 years ago and it got as high as 55, and in the archives of Orlando Theme Park news they have several accounts of the line for said attraction getting over the 40 mark, lets not argue semantics. the fact is it can and this addition (again if it does occur) will not affect anything.

There's a very good reason SSE has never had Fastpass.

Those truly worried about skipping to the front of the line should either shell out real money for a VIP guide or use their brains to avoid long lines like the rest of us do.

Adding FP isn't about making the ride more efficent.. so that whole 'but..' is just off the mark entirely.

and they don't hold people back in standby for no reason what-so-ever - this is yet more misunderstanding of what is actually being done. They don't hold the line and let EMPTY seats go. They are often holding the line back at merge to keep the line from flooding the merge area.
Thank You flynn glad to know someone understands where im coming from here.

If they have a cm working the front of the line that is competent at their job then this should not affect the efficiency at all. the only additional time that is added is when the cm clicks a chain on one line and off another asking about the party size the whole way. that's an addition of about 2-3 seconds to the process, not sure why people are complaining about that aspect.

Well said! Same logic goes for Buzz Lightyear's Space Rangers, no pre-show (well sort of) and a constant load and unload cycle.

SSE is crowded, sure but the high capacity makes the ride have a short wait time!! Fastpass...is ridiculous! We dont need it!

^ Probably because it's not a 10minute max wait all of the time.

XPass, at its core, like other paid queue services at other parks, will most likely be intended for, and best used during the peak attendance days. Those days where the entire park is slammed. Wouldn't it be nice to be there during one of those days with all your rides already planned out and you didn't have to worry about not being able to do what you most wanted to do because of the crowds?

Parks are realizing people will pay incredible amounts of money for that little piece of mind. It's a magical phenomenon. Costs exactly zero to make, but can sell for hundreds if not thousands of dollars.

ell it's most likely for Xpass but it's still ridiculous, why does SSE need that? Ive waited max 10 minutes to ride it.
