He wasn't particularly funny in HISTA either. And I agree that this is sad, as I am a huge Eric Idle/Python fan. Seems to me they just had him reading a script, with no room for any Eric-isms that would have made it funny. The closest thing is in the HISTA preshow, when he tells you to put on your safety goggles and safely move inside the theater safely. A few more of those would have punched up HISTA and the current JIYI nicely!

I think it is only Image Works and the store based on the image and the fact that it doesn't say "sponsor" but just "moving in".
    Sorry guys.
    So. . . you mean. . . No Figment in a dumpster?

Thing with Eric Idle is that he'll do anything if the paycheck's nice. Just look at Delgo or Secret of Nimh 2.

Last? Richard, the younger brother who remains quite active in the Disney community, is still alive.

    From their official twitter

Sadly this company will just be running the photo shop, they will not be sponsoring the pavilion.

ImageWorks used to be operated by another co. We moved in now they've left. Once fully functional it will get a big visual upgrade.
The store after the Imagination ride.

The way I see the current version is Figment engaging in prankster's vengeance against the Imagination Institute for the even worse 2000 version which is fairly reasonable what with the whole "Destroying his home, booting Dreamfinder and insulting all the people who ride by saying they've got no Imagination". We just get caught in the crossfire.

Still want a new version going back to the feel of the original, but I don't think ColorVision can put that much funding into that.

This is great news!!! I just hope that Figment survives whatever change they have in store for the Institute..

Figment is a great character, just not in the current incarnation of the ride which makes him into an annoying little impish creature instead of a curious little Figment of Imagination.

Must admit, I was a little disappointed to not read "Apple" up there. Either way, I hope that the Imagination ride gets scrapped. I hope Figment and his little arrogant wings get sent off to the dumpster. Was that too harsh?
Anyway, I'm really excited to hear about what Colorvision is going to do. Especially if it involves Figment and a dumpster.

Seriously guys, what I was show said exactly this: "Colorvision will be the new SPONSOR of the Imagination Pavilion." It didn't say sponsor of the just ImageWorks, but sponsor of the whole pavilion. If you don't want to believe that, ok. But I know what I read and it was an official CM pamphlet that the CM showed me. It also had something about Flower & Garden on there, but they just showed me the Colorvision thing.

Yeah, just being the ImageWorks makes a lot more sense. Don't see how a small novelty photo group can support the full pavilion.

still conflicting information on this.. some say its just about the post-show stuff.

And either way, a new sponsor doesn't mean a new pavilion necessarily either. A lowball sponsorship could include just using your name/branding on the existing show..

ANY change for that pavilion would be good...hopefully it brings back more of a homage to the original...the current ride there is annoying as all get out, and that's sad because I really enjoy Eric Idle's work

Re: New Sponsor for the Imagination Pavilion

The Imagination Pavilion always makes me so sad to think about. I try to walk on the sunny side of life's street, but things like IP are the stuff I know would make Walt really sad if he was still alive because they are the antithesis of what he believed in and dreamed for the parks. When I was in college I studied Disney in a business class back when it was the leader in the world in terms of maintenance, hospitality training, and upkeep -- so it's kind of horrifying for me to see things like IP and the other rundown attractions. I really hope another "Disney Renaissance" happens and the company goes back to this gold standard of quality.

I am really confident this is going to happen. Disney seems to go through these weird cycles with terrible executives who forget about what made Walt so successful...and that's followed by people who genuinely love Disney who come in to fix the things the bad executives did.

I think we are just on the verge of this happening again.
