Has anyone else ever noticed a hotel called Grand Beach Resort (how similar to the Grand Floridian Beach Resort) located near World Center Drive and is located on Lake Bryan?

This hotel looks exactly like the Grand Floridian with its white walls and red gabled roofs. Even its lakefront location and the resort's layout is strikingly similar to the Disney resort. I know that the Grand Floridian is based off the Coronado in San Diego but it's amazing to think that the Grand Beach Resort looks so much like the Grand Floridian and they are merely miles apart. I guess someone was smart enough to capitalize on the tourists who thought it was Disney's resort.

    Here's the website:
Grand Beach in Orlando, FL features lakefront accommodations with beach-style décor and many outdoor pools and is the perfect family-friendly destination.

Also look up the resort on bing maps.

If that's a knock off then the Grand Floridian is a total rip of the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego. San Diego Resort | Coronado CA Hotel | Hotel Del Coronado I wouldn't say it's a knock off, but its a type of style.

Yup, it is a style of architecture but it strikes me that such an iconic combination and design was allowed to be built within such close proximity to Disney's Grand Floridian. I knew that the Grand Floridian needed permission to reproduce such an iconic structure so I'm wondering why it was allowed to have built the Grand Beach Resort.

Besides the architectural similarities, it strikes me as odd that the two share such similar names.

Yet another reason to love the State of California, they gave that building nice buttons for it's topcoat!

lol California freaks out about everything. They even warn you about the coatings on Christmas lights.

I was going to mention the Hotel Del Coronado as well. That hotel that you showed looks far from a knockoff, it looks more like a Best Western to me.

Doesn't look much like the Grand Floridian to me. And you said it yourself, the GF is a copy of the Del Coronado here in SoCal, so...

Its a common sign in California due to prop 65 and the state has a whole list of chemicals and substances that could cause cancer and anytime someone may encounter these chemicals you will see these signs.

Anywhere from hotels, to fast food joints, to gas stations, to silverware and plates you can buy at say Target or another store. Its a very common sight in California.

Go to Mcdonalds in CA and somewhere (usually on nutrition facts sheet) you will see a warning about fried potatoes and the chance they could cause cancer.

                    Re: Grand Floridian Knock Off

The Grand Floridian is only loosely designed in the style of the Hotel Del Coronado in California. It is also based on many of the old Flagler Hotels that lined Florida's East Coast in the early 1900's. The Hotel Del Coronado is what most people recognize because it is the only one still standing and in operation. The Grand Floridian in and of itself is not a "Knock off" or copy of that hotel. It's design was only inspired by the California and older Victorian Era Florida Beach Resorts.

                      It is a nice quiet
little property that was built to look like the grand flo.
