I hope this article is a big joke.

    YOU CAN’T SPELL ‘DREAMFINDER’ WITHOUT M-E-R-I-D-A… | From dreamer… to Dreamfinder/

Epcot's imagination pavilion is belegured enough with Dr. Channing and the Imagination Insitute, being tied in with HISTK and Flubber. I do not want another movie tie in for Journey Into Imagination, beside Merida would be a horrible companion to Figment. What would JII be like tied in to Brave? Figment riding on the back of Angus while he tries to tell Merida that she has no imagination? No way will I ever support such a stupid idea for an attraction, if Disney want a ride themed to Brave, they can do it at MK, DHS or DCA but not at Epcot, and definatly not in the Imagination pavilion. I want the original JII back, the way it's supposed to be, so that Dreamfinder can tell us all that Imagination is something that belongs to all of us.

ORDDU: Did you ever see the original Journey into Imagination, Timmy, dear? If you had you might like it much better than what's there now. The current attraction is atrocious to say the least. But the original attraction that used to be there was whimsical and many fans fell in love with Figment. But then it was ruined and the Figment represented in the attraction these days is a mere shadow of what the original Figment was like. You might even say he's an imposter.

Nowhere in the article did I say anything about putting Merida anywhere NEAR the Imagination Pavilion, did I?

You need to look past what you know and your sense of nostalgia, and focus on what it was that made Imagination & Dreamfinder work in the first place. Those are the concepts that make these rides and characters effective anywhere. But you're too busy whining about bringing back what you used to know to see what's lacking NOW.

To be clear... Merida can be as effective as Dreamfinder -- hell, ANY character can be as effective as Dreamfinder -- if he or she actively involves the guest in their story rather than just pose and sign and pose and sign. And that means anywhere.

I totally understand your argument it's just a fact that we do not want a existing character inside a show like JII escpecially a character as fresh as Merida not that I don't like her though I think she is better fit at world showcase as well as I was never crazy about marketing Merida as much as they did before the movie which was a horrible strategy in my book. Dreamfinder is more than nostalgia he was created by the Imagineers to represent the creativity and boundlessness they are known for so an embodiment of the spirit of the Imagineers was perfect for the ride.

I did not ride the original

The dragon is fine... the ride has some highlights... but the way it is presented I wish they open something else in that space.

The original walk around/ride/pavilion was magic. Especially for a kid.

                    It's been ruined now.

That's not an article... it's a blog post, where the author compares Merida's spirit to that of the original Dreamfinder.

So true. Used to be my favorite thing at Epcot when I was a kid

There is one thing I do would like to point out about movie characters being at Epcot. Epcot is supposed to be about all the aspects of the future, that is why I love the 80's EPCOT Center way more than what Epcot is now. Already The Living Seas is now terrible with the Characters from Finding Nemo. I don't know what the deal is with adding the Three Caballeros to the ride in the Mexico pavilion. I can't even imagine how worse Epcot would be like if JII gets tied in with Brave.

                              Re: Oh hell no!!!!

As someone who has ridden all 3 versions of this ride, I am not sure what to say:
                              1. the Orignal was classic --- I understand this, but in the end, it was a lot of wooden cutouts.
                              2. the 2nd version was horrible --- yes it was pretty lame, but at least it was something different.
                              3. the new version is sad and pathetic --- me personally I like it, but sadly no one knows it it is there, there is never a queue for it, and honestly it is pretty forgettable.

So that all being said, I want this pavilion redeveloped. It's current state is sad and depressing. The glass pyramids sit empty and in ruins.. the rainbow tunnel collects dust. Something needs to happen, and if that means that BRAVE moves in with a radical redevelopment of this pavilion then so be it.

                              Honestly DISNEY JUST DO SOMETHING!

Here are the current vacant attraction spaces at Epcot where attractions used to be:
                              Wonders of Life
                              2nd Floor to Imagination Pavilion
                              The Food Rocks theater
                              World Show Place
The Japan Show Building (attraction never installed)
The German Show Building (attraction never installed)

Up until a few years ago the ride at The Seas was shuttered, until they FINALLY put Nemo in there. Mind you, is Nemo perfect? No, but honestly it is something. And do you know how sad it makes me feel to just beg for something? Honestly it is depressing, but that is all I expect from Disney now days... the bare minimum.

WHERE in that article does it hint that Merida is going into the Imagination Pavilion? I really did not get that from the article at all. It would be like reading about how Disney purchased Marvel and concluded the Mickey Mouse will now star in the next Spiderman movie.
