[Question] Would I save more money by going in late June or in early or mid August?

Yes, I love to plan ahead and I'm already thinking about going to Walt Disney World in the summer of 2013 or 2014.
I want to go in late June or in early or mid August.
In recent summers, when has Disney had bigger discounts? (Again, in late June or in early or mid August?)
I'd like to stay at the moderate Port Orleans.

I changed this post when I learned that:
1. There is no free Disney Dining in summer.
2. The summer discount on hotel info is easily available & clear. We'll go probably in mid-August and hope that future discounts are like the ones in 2012.

Easily early to mid-August.

One way to tell is to go to disneyworld.com and try to book a standard hotel room. Note when they adjust the hotel room rates (there's a way to view a calendar of room rates on the site)

The rates hike to Summer rates in early June (first or second week) and fall again mid August.

I've gone two years straight in mid-August, and I try to straddle the room rate change with my dates, so that way the first week we are in the busier time, and the second we are not. I can say, the parks get much quieter. Still not "off season" quiet, but certainly not what you will experience if you go late June.

THANK YOU very much Englanddg! From your post and from a nice detailed email sent by Jeff Heimbuch at Fairy Godmother Travel I think I'm up to speed. (Jeff's email made me think that Fairy Godmother Travel must provide excellent service!) Now I'm leaning toward mid-August.

You might want to factor in the cost of treating heat stroke and exhaustion... If you don't have to do it in the Summer consider the Fall when some rates are down and temps have dropped a bit too.
