News Country Bear Jamboree to be edited down!!!!

Don't worry so much this won't be another Tiki Room edit last year when they cut a whole lot out of the show this will only be about five minutes. Not to much to say lets just hope they only edit out just some filler music or dialogue, not any of the beloved songs!!!!

Wow - another victim of today's less than focused audience. However, I did notice way too much music-only dead space in the attraction last time, so MAYBE this might help it out.

Still would rather them first the audio system first.

And do the crowds really create a necessity for this? I don't usually see the theater full anyways so it's not helping crowd flow so much, and I'm not sure a lessened showtime will increase attendence.

That's what I'd like to know.

Nonetheless it'd be very unfortunate if they cut some of the songs. It's truly sad that such classic shows are falling victim to cut downs and sometimes unnecessary editing. Albeit they did a fantastic job restoring the Tiki Room. It looks better than ever. Sadly it's just a much shorter show. The only thing I can picture them cutting from CBJ are "Mama, Don't Whip Little Buford" and "Devilish Mary." They're relatively shorter songs and quite frankly the characters featured in them have already been used once before. Of course that doesn't matter but you know how it goes...nonetheless it'll be a very sad day.

Sorry for the hold up on the source of this. I found this while going through the usual Disney news sites more specifically DISreport.com it was just a small note it didn't even have a link, now I'm thinking it should have been posted as a rumor but I posted this as news because it is a very likely scenario as TDO has done it before most recently the Tiki Room (though I don't care to much since it got Iago and Zazu out of Adventureland).

Except Disney didn't just decide to shorten the Tiki Room. We got a shortened classic Tiki Room because The Tiki Room UNM caught fire and Iago was permanently damaged. Due to the unpopularity of UNM, the decision was made to bring back a modified version of the original rather than pay to rebuild a relatively sophisticated animatronic. The modifications to the original show were made both due to the original's lack of success in Orlando relative to its Anaheim cousin (with the thought that a shorter version would be better received) and to save costs by not rebuilding some of the effects from the original show.

That logic doesn't apply here, as CBJ remains very popular in Orlando. Modifying the show to shorten it would be an added expense as it would require additional labor and would not be a cost-saving measure as it was for Tiki Room. The only logic that could be behind a decision to shorten the show would be a need to increase its hourly capacity, but CBJ isn't crowded enough to warrant that.

Quite frankly, I don't find this rumor very plausible. Absent a compelling reason (and I don't think there is one), it's cheaper, easier, and less likely to upset guests to just leave CBJ as is.

Ummm... they BETTER NOT!

I hope this isn't true! This has been one of my favorite attractions at WDW for over 30 years. I know the show by heart because I have the soundtrack record and listened to it constantly when I was a kid.

Cutting 5 minutes is cutting 25% of the show since it's only a 20 minute show!

I really hope this is not true. All they need to do is fix Buff and Melvin's speakers, Trixie's eyes and a few other minor audio tweaks and we're good to go.

You don't need to worry about that. The place isn't big enough for anything else besides a show. I've seen the show once and thought it was terribly long. I was good after the first ten minutes.

That's probably what they said at Disneyland Anywho I think the Jamboree is safe and only dead music space would be edited we can only for sure know what is going on until the show is out of Refurb.

Its official, the rumored song to be taken out is "Mama don't whoop little Buford" probably parents complained about the song saying "I think you should shoot him instead", geez people can be so fragile these days as my mothers boyfriend says "All it takes is one jerk to complain and ruin it for everyone else".

That's a shame if it's true. I saw CBJ for the first time last year and fell in love with it. But Little Buford was easily the best part - I literally laughed out loud. I remember thinking, "There's no way that would make it into a show today."

If they cut little Buford's song I may never see it again... it was always my favorite song of the show, once I was old enough to understand it. I'm going down next month, and it closes the second day of my trip, so it is my day one priority.

Whenever I'm at the show, everyone laughs at the Little Buford song (which is probably my favorite bit in the show beside "Blood on the Saddle"). People are just to overly sensitive these days. The tiniest thing will offend someone. It's ridiculous. Suck it up and grow a backbone, people! This is why as a whole, I hate the human race.

Completely unnecessary and counterproductive deletion. I'm all for new and innovative quality attractions. Can we please have more of those instead of screwing around with the classic attractions?

I fully agree with this post.

I can't see them shortening the show, for all the reasons mentioned above.
