  • News Celebrate the Magic

Beginning this November, guests visiting Magic Kingdom Park will be able to enjoy a new nighttime projection show on Cinderella Castle. “Celebrate the Magic” will incorporate favorite elements from the current show, "The Magic, The Memories and You!," with all-new music, storytelling and special effects

“‘Celebrate the Magic’ takes us on a journey to the heart of the most beloved Disney stories and characters,” said Show Director Katy Harris. “This amazing show will magically transform Cinderella Castle with spectacular projection effects, choreographed to a new music soundtrack. The show will be full of emotion and storytelling, proving that, with imagination and magic in our hearts, anything is possible.”

I'm glad TMMAY is ending and that they are going for a guest-less show. The title made me think of the song "Magic Everywhere" from DLP. Wonder why they opted for Disneyland not to get a new show.

I'm glad that they're getting rid of the guest photos and adding new effects - that's a win-win, so kudos to Disney for improving what was already an impressive show! Regarding the name, I think Tom Bricker said it best:

I knew if this business was ever to get anywhere, if this business was ever to grow, it could never do it by having to answer to someone unsympathetic to its possibilities, by having to answer to someone with only one thought or interest, namely profits. For my idea of how to make profits has differed greatly from those who generally control businesses such as ours. I have blind faith in the policy that quality, tempered with good judgment and showmanship, will win against all odds.

Disneyland's show was on Small World facade in the back of Fantasyland (aka the least crowded area in the park at night). It was never very popular because franky no one knew about it and those that did didn't feel it was necessary to walk to its a small world for it. I wish they would move the projection show to DCA on Carthay Circle Theater. It has a much more central location, larger projection surfaces, and would provide a new entertainment offering at night (since I hate Mad T Party I find it a little more difficult to enjoy the park at night if I'm not seeing WoC).

I may be biased but I love TMMAY. During my PC i worked the glow carts (light up toy carts) and saw this probably 10 times a week. I never got tired of it. Walt always made me tear up at the end and the effects never got old. I watched every chance I got. I'm sad it's going away before I got to see it one more time.

I agree that Disneyland needs it in a new spot. I was at Disneyland for 6 days and saw it once because it was so far out of the way. There is so much going on night it's hard to see it all and be able to enjoy it.

I was too at Disneyland for 6 days, only got one final chance to see it the night before I left and the show wasn't working. It was cancelled so I left for other stuff to do that night.

I never got to see TMMAY, but I've only been once since they started showing it and it was a night with EMH and for some reason they didn't show it. My parents saw it after that trip when they went and they said it was amazing and how they're picture was used and I was really looking forward to seeing it in November when we go again. But I guess I'll never get that chance but I am excited for the new show
