  • Trip Report A grand tribute to everything Disney World (Trip Report -part one)

    Hello Micechatters!

Time for another trip to the Place Where Dreams Come True, with you incoherantly rambling guide Mkcoastie! To start out, let me take you back in time........long ago......to the middle of October (O.K., not so long ago, but longer than it should have taken to write this trip report).

This fun filled jaunt through WDW will took place over 6 days and two resorts (well.....both sides of one resort, I guess). Some last min schedule changes caused me to have to scramble to get some rooms for not only my family, but my wife's parents. So I needed lodging for 4 adults and 2 kids. We are DVC members, and using points (even if only for a couple days) saves me some money. The only problem is that there was almost no DVC availability for our required size. The only thing big enough was a three day stay........in a Grand Villa! This villa would be in Animal Kingdom Lodge's Kidani Village. for the second half of the stay, we head over to Jambo House and got two ajoining rooms. So, with that set-up.....................

    We begin!

While not Disney, I always start my trip reports with a picture of South of the Border. For anyone who has never traveled along Interstate 95, this glorious mecca of cornyness is the preeminant landmark along the busy East Coast corridor. While it is nothing short of a tourist trap, it is the one thing that always lets me know that I truely am.....on my way

after 14 hours on the road, we finally arrive. Exhausted, we head to bed......welcome home.

The next Morning, I awake full of excitement....and rather blown away by my accommodations. Here is a quick morning tour.

And now it's off to explore the rest of Kidani as we make our way over to the other side (Jambo House) for breakfast.

amongst all my crappy shots....I really like this one.

I saw this trashcan and got excited about it in a way that only a theme obsessed wackjob can. It's a good one.

Great post. We're headed down to Disney in a few weeks. Last time we drove out, my family actually counted the South of the Border signs, and we counted over 100 of them. Still unsure just how many there are. They're everywhere.
