  • [Idea] What about a projection show on the DHS Theater?

I was reminded today of the old Sorcery in the Sky fireworks at the Studios, and it got me thinking, what if they had an alternative event to Fantasmic!, but utilising the projection effects they've used on the Castles at the Magic Kingdom and Disneyland Paris. (Naturally, the Hat would have to go.)

Now I appreciate that it might seem to similar to have a movie themed night time show, but I guess there are enough films in the Disney vault, as well as those in the newly acquired properties, to present a unique show. They could even make it just the live action films.

For instance segments for Tron, Star Wars, Avengers (or Iron Man/Captain America separately), Indiana Jones, 20,000 Leagues or even some of the old fan favourites like The Rocketeer.

    What do you think?

      Kind of like this?

(That's a show at my Local Cedar Fair park that's projected on the giant concrete mountain)

I would definitely love to see a similar idea utilized at DHS with Disney characters. Could be impressive.

Yup, exactly what I had in mind. I'd figure that the Theatre may have just enough space for them to project onto. Then again if they can manage it with the thin spires of Le Chateau in Paris then any thing is possible.

Here's the Disneyland Paris version, for those who may not have seen it...

Now imagine that with the likes of Star Wars and Tron...

Or we could just make the hat useful for the time being and project on that. If that monstrosity is going to be there, they might as well use it.

Though personally I think TOT would make a far better canvas, especially if they did a show like they did for the opening of TOT at DSP

Yeah that big ugly hat is kind of in the way of the Chinese Theatre. And All it is is a stupid pin store.

i like the idea of a fantasmic alternative
like World of color and mad t party
i would have to bee far from fantasmic to keep the other side of the park busy
