  • News New Bus line from DAK to DTD being tested.

This makes sense as it keeps people on property longer, but does it mean DAK will always have short hours? Does it mean DTD will start charging for parking?

I'm guessing a lot of the feedback about the need for park to DTD transit is from people wanting the free parking.

I like it. Many people, particularly those staying on property, will benefit from being able to head straight to Downtown Disney when Animal Kingdom closes.

Taking advantage of free parking shouldn't be too much of an issue, as anyone doing so will have to deal with multiple buses prior to 3 pm.

Re: New Bus line from DAK to DTD being tested.

I know it would run right smack into their bus efficiencies but the lack of park and DTD transportation bugged me for a very long time and I couldn't understand why they wouldn't at least have 1-way service from the park to DTD and spare guests the inconvenience.

I think they had park to DTD routes years ago but a lot of people started abusing it so they got rid of them and you can only do hotel to DTD. We'll see how this new test route does.

Right now the parking situation at DTD is an absolute mess. Most of the lots on the Westside are behind construction walls for the Disney Springs re-branding/expansion. If you're driving your own car and want to go to DTD you need to get there as early as possible or take the bus if you're staying on property.

It once took us 2 hours to get from DAK to DTD.. I am allllll for this!!!
          Good morning, son
          In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
          It was pain
          Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

It's about time. I remember the horrible commute connecting through the resorts to go to DTD after AK closed the last time I visited. It was a nightmare.

I was surprised to see Park to Park route as well when I was there last week. I was at HS and had dinner reservations at Yak and Yeti.... which was awesome btw.... and instead of taking a bus to a resort and then to AK we went strait to AK and had more time for the park before our dinner. It was great!

Park to park has thankfully always been there. The only tricky route is when you want to go from Studios/AK to MK or Epcot they combine it on one bus to the TTC and let you take the monorail from there.

Re: New Bus line from DAK to DTD being tested.

                  Possible Solution:
At DTD each passenger needs one of the following to board a bus to a park.

                  An active Disney Hotel ID/Key/Wristband.
                  or
A same-day used park pass (Have to visit a park first)
                  or
Buy a $7.50 transportation ticket (Since most people travel in pairs this would equal one vehicle parking lot charge, obviously a bad deal for more than 2)

This would limit the bus service to Hotel Guests and Paid Park Guests and control abuse.

Both should be connected to the monorail.
It bothers me when people selectively edit quotes to support whatever point they are trying to prove.

Yes but today Disney would rather have Bus Gridlock.
