  • [Question] Fastpass+ Trial--am I banned from using regular fastpasses?

I've just planned a super last minute trip (yay!) to WDW for next weekend. We were invited to participate in the My Magic+/Fastpass+ trial. My fiance and I have mastered the paper Fastpass system and are hesitant to try this new system. We do like the idea of not having to get to Epcot first thing in the morning in order to get a FP to Soarin', but at the same time don't want to be limited to only 3 FP a day (we like to ride Coaster and ToT several times each).

Has anyone done the trial? If I participate in the trial, am I allowed to also use regular the FP system?

As a more general question, has anyone done the trial and, if so, do you recommend doing it over the traditional system?

    Thanks in advance!

I believe that's correct. If you use Fastpass+ you can't use the normal Fastpasses.

You can also take regular fastpass during the trial. You are able to use your key to the world card, to take regular fastpass, in addition to your fast pass plus selections.

When the program rolls out fully Fastpass 1.0 will cease to exist and then you would be limited to whatever limit Disney sets for Fastpass Plus

Thanks to all! I spoke with a lady at Disney yesterday and she confirmed that participants in the trial can still use their card to get paper Fastpasses, so I think I'm going to give this thing a try!

My wife just got back last night and she said she was able to use both the Magic Band and regular Fastpass. She said around December all the regular FP machines will be gone.
