That article only mentions the test at AK, which had been mentioned previously. It doesn't say anything yet about when it would be expanded to the other 3 parks.

              Re: R.I.P. Paper Fastpass

So for awhile it seems like you will only be able to Fastpass + or whatever while staying on Property...

who knows how long that will last, maybe they are going to try and bring the whole thing to where it's a privalege you get for staying at a Disney Hotel and that's going to be their way of charging for it instead of blatantly saying it's X amount of dollars like Universal and 6 Flags.

^ I must admit that it would be logical on Disney's part to do it like that. Give the free FPs to the hotel guests and make non hotel guests a fee

As a first timer who is going to be staying on the disney property, do I have to use FP+ ahead of time for Magic Kingdom? I'm so confused...

14th was the first day for MK. AK was done before christmas. The other parks are just a matter of time. Permits have already been filed for FP machine removals, etc. I would expect the other parks to happen by Feb if the MK transition goes smoothly.

What does this do to the lanyards and pins and pin trading?

I don't see any connection at all. How do you see a relation?

I'm sure pin lanyards will still sell.

Vinylmation is the new pin trading craze.

The Magic Bands, can be bought in special editions if you want to upgrade from the plane one you get. And there are accessories, so that is a new collectable in itself.
