  • [Chat] The Timekeeper

After the sad news of the loss of Robin Williams, it'd be nice to remember him for one of his lesser known Disney roles, that of eponymous character in The Timekeeper.

Even in AA form, we still got a great performance. We'll never see the attraction come back to the parks as a tribute, but thankfully it does carry on in the numerous videos that were taken.

Originally an opening day attraction at Disneyland Paris, it made the transfer to the Magic Kingdom in 1994.

For those who remember it, and those who never got to experience it, enjoy.

This was one of my favortie attractions when I was a kid. The Genie was a huge part of my life as a kid, and that voice was unmistakeable. I knew that robot was him, and I loved it.

    Goodbye, Genie.

I got to experience this at the Magic Kingdom and it was a fun beat the heat show with Robin Williams as an ani-matronic figure. He will be missed.

I loved this attraction so much, and frankly, Robin Williams' contribution is most of the reason why. Just a fantastic show that NEVER should have left.

I love Timekeeper. It was cute and fun. And you couldn't beat Robin Williams as the Timekeeper himself and Rhea Pearlman as Nine Eye!

By all means bring it back! Timekeeper was such a wonderful show, full of fantastic performances. This is classic Disney, bringing history alive and showing us how the past, present and future are all one. Perfect for Tomorrowland!

What happened to the AA? I can't find anything on its current whereabouts.

Good question. I can't think of any likely AA candidates that he would have been converted into, so maybe he's in storage. I wonder what happened to the Paris and Tokyo ones as well.

As for bringing it back, sure its very Tomorrowland, but what about the Imagination Pavilion? I know it wouldn't be the same without a Circlerama but with a few edits to the movie, would it not work in the HISTA/Eo theatre?
