  • Driving Time: ATL to WDW

So I am heading off to the World on Monday. I live in Atlanta and plan to start driving down that morning. I know I need to add time to circumnavigate the city from where I live. What I am wondering is if anybody has any guesses as to how long it will take to get to the property from Atlanta. MapQuest says it will take 7 hours 14 minutes, but I doubt that is very accurate.

Actually that sounds acurate. My aunt and uncle drive there from Snellville and it's about 7 hours for them.
But then again MapQuest's times are not always acurate...I know for me it says 4 hours 38 mintues from Savannah...it's about 4 hours 15...Sat morning I made it in 4 and 5 minutes. But that one sounds accurate for daytime.

Yeah around 7 hours sounds about right. I remember in 2001 a friend and I drove from Tampa to Atlanta. We left around noon and got there around 7pm. And that's with making 2 or 3 stops for bathroom/munchie breaks.

I live in Marietta. So I have to do the whole "going through town" thing when I go. I've made the trek about 10 times to Orlando (most of the time passing right by to visit relatives in Palm Beach). Anyway, it takes about 6 1/2 hours to 7 hours depending on what traffic you hit here in Atlanta. That's it.

There was one time the turnpike was congested at the point you enter from 75. But it was Spring Break and I haven't seen it like that since.

            Thanks a bunch.

I definitely do not plan on cutting through Atlanta. I'll be leaving in the morning and have no desire to experience the Connector during the morning rush hour. I figure US41 to I-285 West should work rather well.

Also take into account the never ending road work on I-75 between Exit 130 to the FLA border. Hopefully they will finish sometime in our lifetime
