  • New Western Way entrance to WDW has Opened!

WDW's newly built entrance road from the west side of the property, named "Western Way" (original, eh?) is now opened for business. I just drove on it today. Takes you right behind DAK and DAKL so you get some partial views of the backside of those areas... and some views of Everest and Tree Of Life as well... But for those who may not be able to understand where this road leads to..
then concider this example.. You are heading south on the Turnpike from I-75. In order to get to WDW... from the Turnpike, you have to take the newly opened Western Beltway Expressway (#428) heading south about 15 mins until you see the WDW signs/Western Way Road. You get off there and follow the road into WDW, passing underneath a newly built "Welcome to WDW" Archway similar to the ones at the other 3 main entrances from the east and south. Western Way will take you directly behind DAK, the Tree Farm and Coronado Springs Resort, and end at Buena Vista Drive, between the Coronado Springs and Blizzard Beach. At that stop light, you turn right to go to DAK/DAKL, BB, Sports complex and AllStar Resorts. Or tunr left to ALL other areas of WDW...(MK, EC, MGM, DTD, and countless on property hotels)

Hope that helps you all coming into WDW from I-75 via the turnpike.

      https://epass.oocea.com/assets/5%20Y...%20Summary.pdf

This is a PDF file from Central FL Expressway Authority.... Go to the 2nd page to see the map. it does not show the Western Way road on it but will give you an idea... You must ZOOM IN and scroll to the bottom left side of the map. See the new Western Beltway highlighted in pink?? Then, can you see where it says "Reedy Creek" on Disney's property?? To the LEFT of the Reedy Creek name, you can see the intersection highlighted in pink next to 'Hartzog Road'. **THAT** is where the Western Way into WDW begins! and ends next to Coronado Springs and Blizzard Beach.
This is a very new road and is not officially opened yet, reason why you probably won't find it in mapquest or other maps yet!

Not sure what the tolls will be on the new western beltway segment, but expect to pay a lot.

Backstage AK and Everest and the Tree Farm. Very cool.
And soon you'll be able to see the cranes for when they start gate 5.

I highly doubt there will be a gate 5 at WDW anytime soon. The market is over saturated. Maybe when Bush is sent packing and the economy turns, but for now... doubtful.

Yeah we need to get rid of the shrub first.
