Is IASW a MUST????

My wife has NEVER been to Disney and we are going in 27 days.

We will be taking friends of ours too.


So is it a *MUST* that I take my wife on IASW?

Anyway, not to derail, but if you are going, IMHO, IASM is a must. A true classic attraction, and the fanciful styling of Mary Blair make this attraction a true Disney classic.

IASW is part of the Disneyland/Magic Kingdom experience, definitely a must for a first time trip

LOL It's not as bad as it sounds. Kinda like the Jungle Cruise falsh only not from homestar runner. But if I find it I wont post it in here

It's a must in the sense that it is truly a Disney classic. It originated at the 1964 World's Fair and is one of the few attractions in the Magic Kingdom not based on a Disney film. It has a wonderful sense of artistic style, but a very catchy song that can get stuck in your head for days on end. It's also really nice to see a grand Audio-Animatronic ride, something that Disney doesn't go for these days.

When I was a kid, I marveled at this. As an adult I've found the most joy in it riding in a boat with small children. If I'm in a boat without kids, about half way through I find myself thinking "GET ME OUT OF HERE!!!" But it's riding this with children, even if they aren't yours, when this attraction really comes alive to. I've never been on a ride where kids get such big eyes and a sense of wonder as they do on "it's a small world."

That, and the thematic element that even through the world's diverse cultures we are all one people is what makes this a great timeless attraction and worthy of its classic status in the Disney pantheon.

My wife has a Mickey Mouse watch that plays 2 different songs. one is Mickey Mouse Club March and the other is IASW. I have been playin git over and over. had to get a new battery

I think IASW is a lot like Nipplegate, Martha's trial 'sode, Christina Aguilera's "Dirrty" video and so on. It's so infamous you can't look away. I mean, there was recently an artsy couple on TV who were forced into IASW for the sake of reality TV. They came out horrified and distraught with a distant look in their eyes, rambling on about feeling like they'd been "drowning in treacle". :lol: Then they happily went back home, looking forward to "seeing something real again, like a tree".

How can that not make you want to go on?

Besides, then she can join in the laughs when people joke about sending forgotton kids over, stapling their feet to the floor, and making them sing a certain song over and over and over...
