  • Star Wars Weekends Crowds

Just out of curiosity, how does Star Wars Weekends at the studios affect the flow of crowds at the other parks. More crowded less crowded are some parks less crowded due to this event or what. Any input would be great!

The effects on the other parks is minimal--it's a busy time of year. Attendance at MGM is just higher than usual (though I wouldn't say significantly--the walkways are more jammed, but the wait times are typical).

Wait times for Star Tours are way up and the use FastPass again, also Millioniare has actual wait times due to the Star Wars version. And Star Wars charecters have long wait times (especially Vader...never got my pick ) but other than that MGM is (or was) a normal busy day. Nothing shocking.

Awesome! I am going to be there this year. My trip co-incides with the final weekend only.

I wasn't planning on doing Star Tours this year, and I think I will avoid Millionaire due to the wait.

I do want to get my picture with Chewbacca, Jedi Mickey and Greedo. Plus, I want to take one with the R2 and C3PO statues.

Anyone know who is on the guest list? Not being a huge Star Wars fan, the past guests didn't interest me.

That is DEFINITELY true...I've seen lines of far greater than an hour for pins...not for me!

I am so not a merchandise person so I'll be skipping those lines.

Yes Tatooine Traders has a line to get inside to shop, and the special area over by Indy was created to divert some guests away from the ride for the "limited edition" merch (which has only crap left by the last week).

Last year the wait for Tattooine Traders was 3 freakin' hours! Yet the star tours stand-by was only 20 minutes... and it dumps you out into the shop anyway. Yeah the biggest lines are for merch and chracters. We waited 45 minutes for a picture with vader. Well worth it And I will be doing it again this year! But really the most crowded areas are over by Star Tours. The RnRC and ToT area is pretty much the same as usual.
