  • HELP! I seem to have lost my direction...

Ok maybe more than a little... I recently applied for a couple of different maintenance management posssitions at WDW and I am getting impatient on waiting for a reply. A CM once told me that if I call up and try to talk to someone at the casting center they like that, I agree, it show initiative (I can't spell). So I try that and I am told that the maitenance recruiter will contact me. OK Ok OK.... on with it.... I am just looking for a little help in trying to get a phone interview and I figured, what better place to look than with my fellow micechatters? I might have a chance to get back in the Coast Guard, so I need to choose so, before I loose my rank. The way I see it is that these two choices are my only way to get enough $$$$, go back to school and finish my engineering degree and then try for my dream job of an Imagineer...

    Any advise would would rock

well you don't necessarily need to be an engineer to be an imagineer. All the advice I can give you is try lots of different things, you might discover that you have talents you weren't aware of.

      Yeah, but education sure helps.

Also, if you become a mechanic, it'll make it easier for you to become an Imagineer... meet the right people and you can get a leg up.

Imagineering isn't really hiring all that much at this time, but in less than two years, I'm pretty darn sure there will be BIG positions opening at WDI. It's not about your education there though, it's about what you've done, and what projects you've already worked on.

Imagineering is later on down the road, I just want to get hired on as a maintenance manager right now....
