  • DL "b slaps" MK in the face

IT'S comming BACK! How IRONIC this comes out the WEEK MK decides to put Wal Mart playgorund for fat yellow bear.

Pooh is temporary and will last for only a few years. Besides, it will only take up a small amount of space in the massive area that was 20K. And I'm glad that Disneyland is getting the subs back. The old regime of Pressler is ended and his damge is washing away and the rubber band is now on the claw of budget cuts and quality shall come to DL.

Yup, At least for right now, the playground is "temporary"... (but we all know
how "temporary" things have a way of staying around....like... Camp Mickey!!)

But on the other hand, I'm sure that my son'll enjoy it!

are you all sure of that? how sure? how many "temporary" things have we seen that have been there until the state required them to be torn down. Only to be rebuilt again!

^very true many temporary things stay along time especialy at WDW. Wasn't Mickey's Starland suposed to be temperary and the Lil Mermaid show and Camp Minnie Mickey. So there is a chance WDW may keep this pooh thing for quite a while.

Great point, Uno. I would expect this McDonald's type playground (exactly the kind of thing Walt did NOT want in his parks) to be there for many years. This is what qualifies as an attraction these days. What makes it all the sadder is how sheep-like most guests are. They will accept it. They won't complain. They'll justify it. They'll say how great it is to have a place where they can sit on their while their brats burn off energy etc ... in other words, they will fundamentally miss the point about what a Disney parks is supposed to be about and the WalMart/durmbing down that has insidiously been happening for a decade now.

They need to use that area to build a better Toontown. The present Toontown isn't very "toony". Th one at DL is much better, its a lot of fun!!! Not saying that I completly dislike it, in fact I ride the Barnstormer constantly. But to use that area just for Pooh Bear seams like a waste to me. GO TOONTOWN!!!

Will they allow a solo adult to ride the Barnstomer? heh If so, I'll have to hit it on this trip since it IS a Disney coaster and I've not been on it yet! *giggle*

ON a different note, i think instead of MK putting in a silly playplace, they should expand Toontown Fair over the spot of the old sub lagoon and the Fair could actually be cool.

Personally I feel they should bulldoze the entire Fantasyland, Toontown Fair and Tomorrowland at the MK and rebuild from scratch, but that's just my opinion which is not valid to Disney's management since I am only a lowly consumer at their parks.

Personally I feel we should make Toontown bigger, better and toonier than before. And move the 20k lagoon to a new Disney Seas park at WDW!
